Job Description

Role summary:

The Procurement Manager is responsible for leading the procurement function within the business. The procurement function is developing and maturing as the business continues to grow and the incumbent will be required to demonstrate the ability to lead continuous improvement, proactively.

The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing all procurement activities from sourcing to purchase, for all business goods and services.  They are to seek to continuously improve us through life good distribution practice (GDP), stock management, asset management and disposals and will be responsible for developing efficient strategies and policies to achieve financial and operational targets.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Review existing procurement processes to improve work efficiency, delivery quality, timelines, and cost management.
  • Work collaboratively and proactively with project teams in country and operations management to continually improve existing systems.
  • Improve procurement services for internal and external customers in quality, cost, and timelines.
  • Monitor spend and inventory management weekly and monthly.
  • Review existing supplier contracts and issue & manage tenders.
  • Manage all service contracts (issue, renew, close, retender) and oversee supplier performance.
  • Manage the procurement team.
  • Work closely with Finance Team to manage purchasing/ERP system.
  • Work closely with Finance and Operations to oversee asset management (new equipment, refurbishments, repairs, calibrations etc).
  • Be a ‘culture carrier’ for Iqarus, through effective leadership, demonstrating role-model behaviors. This includes creating a culture of excellent communications to management and to team members, empowering team members to become thought leaders and encouraging cross collaboration amongst the teams to achieve the business strategy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or similar subject
  • 5 + years’ experience in international procurement within the Pharmaceutical or Healthcare sector essential
  • CIPP, CIPSC, IACCM certified would be an advantage.
