Job Description

The Clinical Director Onshore is responsible for the strategic development, medical organisation and governance of the Onshore Clinical Platform.

  • Working closely with Clinical Director Onshore - Regions to ensure that the onshore medical services are delivered to Iqarus Standards and in line with legal and regulatory standards
  • Provide line management to Aberdeen based doctors including regular interface agreements, ongoing interaction and communication as well as training and development planning
  • Provide technical line management to the Aberdeen Nurse Manager, supporting with clinical queries, review of investigations and technical service design and development
  • Ensuring high clinical quality standards, and maintaining good clinical records using the company's IT based systems and operating within the Iqarus clinical governance framework
  • Ensure the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of delivery of medical services to the UKCS including regular review of processes and procedures to enhance quality and efficiency.
  • Provide personal occupational medical services including digital consultation, examination and assessment of referrals, screening, health surveillance and occupational health consultations and may require a medical report or certification completion.
  • Provide medical advisory, technical occupational health consultancy work (which will include clinical responsibilities) to key clients in Aberdeen
  • Support the business development and account management activity within the region to maximize new and existing opportunities including input and sign off of tender documents and participation in tender presentations and client meetings as required
  • Liaises with technical bodies on matters concerning Occupational Health.
  • Liaise with the operations and management teams to optimise quality assurance and ensure that appropriate medical outcomes are consistently attained with respect to clinical service delivery
  • Ensure all existing standards and accreditation are maintained and any new legislative requirements addressed
  • Provide support, guidance and mentoring for junior clinical staff
  • Identify and oversee training needs for all clinical staff based out of Aberdeen
  • Works effectively and proactively as part of the Onshore leadership team to improve, enhance and manage the onshore clinical service delivery 
  • Co-operates in the efficient running of the Company by performing any other reasonable duties as requested

 

Qualifications

Skills, knowledge & experience:

  • 10 years post-qualification experience in occupational medicine, ideally with extensive knowledge and experience of the offshore oil and gas industry.
  • Experience as a medical advisor is preferred
  • Knowledge and experience of the Clinical, Occupational Health, Medical Advisory/Consulting and offshore services in the oil and gas industry.

Qualifications:

  • General Medical Council, UK registered doctor with a license to practice
  • MFOM
