Job Description

The 2/3 role will comprise of 1 week Medic and one week HSEA 

Health Planning

·         Implement and promote the Occupational Health Plan in accordance with the SHE&I Plan.  

·         Maintain all competencies as are required in order to enable the implementation of the SHE&I Plan.

·         Provide effective wellness advice, guidance and assessment to all Client's and its contractors’ personnel                and utilise system process as requested.

·         Carry out health promotion training, information, dissemination and provision of advice to offshore                          workforce as directed 

·         Provide effective listening, communication and support to all employees and contractors on the offshore                facilities.

·         Facilitate platform health promotion activities

·         Promote Employee Assistance programs

Occupational Health & Industrial Hygiene Duties

·         Provide onsite routine health care and advice to offshore personnel in line with Iqarus MSOs

·         Provide onsite emergency medical care 24 hours per day in line with Iqarus MSOs

·         Seek appropriate and timely consultation/advice from Topside service

·         Arrange any required Medevac cases in accordance with Iqarus and Client site protocols

·         Maintain stock levels of all medications, including safe custody of controlled drugs and maintenance of                  controlled drugs register, in accordance with Iqarus MSO

·         Maintain patient confidentiality at all times, supported with clear and concise medical records in line with                Iqarus Records and Record Keeping Policy, also maintain the sickbay attendance log, including Patient                  information on medications taken and known allergies

·         Management of clinical waste and routine cleaning of the sickbay

·         Ensure all medical equipment, Stretchers, gases are functional, regularly inspected and maintained,                      including calibration of required items in accordance with manufacturers guidelines

·         Lead first aid team and co-ordinate all first aid team activities and regular training

·         Provide First Aid training on board to the First Aid and Emergency Response Teams

·         Deliver regular Health Awareness and Health Promotion activities

·         Focal point for health education

·         Assist the Safety Adviser with area inspections when required

·         Conduct routine hygiene checks of the galley and accommodation areas

·         Conduct ERT part 2 medicals (step test) when required

·         Conduct Vessel Safety inductions

·         Conduct potable water sampling and testing, 

·         Conduct Noise monitoring and Noise Exposure Management (NEMS) surveillance

·         Conduct Hygiene Inspections of the Accommodation and Catering facilities

·         Conduct Display Screen Equipment (DSE) assessments

·         Conduct Face Fit testing

·         Complete a comprehensive handover, wherever required, at the end of each trip Awareness of IADC and              OSHA Guidelines

HSEA responsibilities

-        Ensure the installation accepted Safety Case is available offshore and any required updates are                              disseminated back to the  onshore HSE Advisor.

-        Monitor and inspection of worksites to ensure relevant legislation,  procedures and best practice is                         complied with at all times.

-        Provide specialist advice and guidance in relation to occupational HSE topics including but not limited to;               hand arm vibration syndrome; noise at work; working at height, control of substances hazardous to health;             manual handling; safe use of personal protective equipment, confined space entry and management of                   radioactive sources

-        Provide Occupational Health guidance to ensure compliance and support the installation medics in                         managing occupational health issues

-        Maintenance and reporting of HSE performance indicators on a daily, monthly and annual basis

-        Dissemination of HSE information through presentations, briefings, posters and themes

-        Management of the installation STOP and UCR processes

 -       Conduct audits and inspections in line with overall programme of works, covering subjects such as control             of work and area inspections

 -       Facilitate on-board delivery of computer based training in subjects such as Risk Assessment and Permit to             Work

 -       Ensure installation personnel and sub-contractors are aware of and comply fully with safe working                         practices, procedures, policies, interfacing arrangements and industry legislation in accordance with HSE               expectations

Additional Information

Eligible to work, or resident, in the UK

·         Registered Nurse (Adult), with at least 3 years’ post-graduation experience within one or more of: A&E, ICU,              HDU, OOH’s Service, ANP, Medical or Surgical Assessment Unit, OR;

·         Royal Navy Medical Assistant (at Leading Hand or above), OR;

·         Royal Marines Medical Assistance (at Corporal or above), OR;

·         British Army Combat Medical Technician Class 1 (at Corporal or above), OR;

·         Royal Air Force Medical Assistant (at Corporal or above), OR;

·         Royal Fleet Auxiliary Service Medical Technician, OR;

·         HCPC Registered Paramedic with significant experience in one or more of: Rapid Response, Emergency                  Care   Practitioner, OOH’s Service

Preference will be given to those who have the experience, qualifications and knowledge with this role type.
