About the job

Ipsos in the Netherlands employs over 150 people, and includes multiple business lines, support teams and global residents.

At Ipsos, the Senior HR Business Partner is fully dedicated to internal clients, their existing and future needs, and the wider provisions of HR services to the country and its teams.  You also help to develop and implement people management strategies, in close collaboration with the regional HR team.

This role requires an experienced senior partner, who has a broad experience in various HR areas of expertise. The partner will build a valuable relationship with internal clients and deliver requests and solutions to/from the various areas of the business and its service lines. The value add of the partner will be deep knowledge of our internal clients, key employees, laws and regulations and business processes, as well as a hands-on, make it happen approach.

Managing Talent

Ipsos’s core values revolve around its people. Our people are our intellectual property and there are three criteria that the Senior HR Business Partner will have experience of in this area:

1.       Finding the right talent – whether its engaging at the graduate level or sourcing the best experienced hires in the market, the Senior HR Business Partner will need to be creative and innovative to build a talent pipeline and hire the right people.

2.       Developing our talent – working within the boundaries of our 70/20/10 development framework, the Senior HR Business Partner will work across borders and use all the resources internally, as well as externally, to build the capability of our people;

3.       Retaining our talent – by listening to our people, interpreting our staff engagement survey, and understanding their needs as well as interpreting the strategic needs of the business, the Senior HR Business Partner will ensure robust plans are put in place to help retain our talent

Business Partnering

A big part of this role will involve the support of the local leadership team. The partner will draw on skills such as coaching, facilitating and negotiating to help stakeholders deal with their people challenges.

Managing change

Change is the one constant in Ipsos. We are an innovative and entrepreneurial company so the ability to continuously adapt and advise our stakeholders on how to manage that change is an essential part of this role.

Labor Relations

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of overseeing all employee relations matters and providing accurate and timely advice to internal stakeholders to safeguard any potential conflict.

Team Leadership

The SHRBP is part of the wider EMEA HR organisation. In the Netherlands the current local HR team includes 1 direct report. There are dotted lines to other parts of the support organisation that support key HR processes (e.g. recruitment, payroll, onboarding, learning and development). The Senior HR Business Partner will be responsible for engaging with the regional team in order to select, run and maintain best HR practices, develop the team and generally create a motivated and pro-active HR function.

Alignment with HR processes

Working in conjunction with regional HR teams, the Senior HR Business Partner will ensure local alignment and execution of all the global processes, such as the annual performance review, salary review and bonus payments.

Wider Leadership Role

The Senior HR Business Partner supports the management team and transfers best practices from different functions within the organization. The Senior HR Business Partner acts as the facilitator for the management team and supports the Country Manager in the creation of strategic and tactical HR policies and decisions.


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • At least 5 years in a senior HR role with proven experience of managing a team;
  • Adept at working within a matrix organization;
  • Experienced in recruitment, with a track record of recruiting the right people;
  • Expertise in learning and development from junior to management level, including first hand build, expand, run and maintain experience;
  • Having detailed knowledge of and experience with the current trends around change management;
  • Experience in employment law;
  • Experience in case management;
  • The ability to be seen as a coach – someone who pulls instead of pushes;
  • Driven, intelligent and passionate about people management;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Proactive, pragmatic, results oriented and resilient;
  • Strong (project)management skills and hands-on mentality;
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills;
  • Worked with Oracle (or an equivalent tool);
  • Fluency in English and Dutch is essential (written and spoken)
