Job Description

The Engineer responsibilities include but are not limited to producing detailed plans for custom exhibits. Plans are to include but are not limited to contain all extrusion, custom, graphic detail. Responsible for preparing set up drawings based on client and/or sales specifications; preparing layouts, patterns or scaled drawings for construction; reviewing and analyzing submitted projects; specifying material, hardware, electrical/lighting specifications, and building techniques in accordance with client requirements; maintaining material records and participating in design/product meetings and client/company discussions. This position will collaborate with fabrication, designers, project managers and, service technicians.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design structurally sound exhibits and environments based on design’s client approve drawings.
  • Follow Ion’s processes and procedures to ensure consistency, quality, timeliness and client satisfaction.
  • A point of contact for Engineering needs regarding schedules, deadlines and specifications.
  • Participate in project build meetings as needed to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Manage assigned projects and provide input on schedule requirements to ensure timelines are met;
  • On-call availability to support client installations.
  • Interface with fabrication, graphics, Project Managers, service and shipping/receiving to ensure information is received, issues are resolved and projects delivered accurately within deadlines.
  • Complete all assigned tasks/projects with accuracy, attention to detail, while following and developing standard operating procedures. Communicate schedule conflicts with appropriate parties and escalate as needed.
  • Input data into data management system for tracking of all job details for proposed and completed jobs.
  • Recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to ensure continual improvement in efficiency, productivity and growth.

Qualifications

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Intelligent, quick learner with student mentality able to apply new methods for increased efficiencies
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and multi-task where meeting strict deadlines is essential
  • Ability to interact professionally with company departments and with clients
  • Must be Detail-oriented, deadline-focused, and customer-centric
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Critical Evaluation
  • AutoCAD and/or Inventor experience.

  • Experience in trade show activities preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree and cumulative five years of mechanical engineering experience
