Job Description

Invinity is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join its product development org on the hardware design team. In this role you will be empowered to make key design and process decisions and work with others to evolve Invinity’s products and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Product mechanical design, including system layout and packaging, component selection, and overall product design
  • Creating and maintaining 3D CAD models, assembly and part drawings, bills of materials, and component and sub-system specifications
  • Evaluating prototypes and first article inspection, providing feedback to suppliers
  • Developing and conducting verification testing to confirm product performance, quality, and manufacturability
  • Identify and develop relationships with key suppliers
  • Source and manage procurement of components and subsystems
  • Configuration Management of product data, including but not limited to design data, specifications, and engineering reports

Qualifications

  • A Bachelors or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent
  • Advanced SolidWorks or Onshape 3D modeling user with experience using sheet metal modules, electrical harness design, and management of large model files
  • Engineering design, organizational, and analytical skills
  • 3+ years’ experience with the design and manufacturing of components and assemblies fabricated using a broad variety of DFM techniques, including welding, forming, molding, and related processes
  • Previous experience designing outdoor sheet metal enclosures and equipment packaging an asset
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to assemble parts, physically rework designs, and safely use common workshop power tools
  • Knowledge of using DFMEA, PFMEA, or FTA investigations in driving decisions to improve design robustness
  • Safety-focused and knowledgeable of regulatory requirements

Nice to have:

  • Experience in fuel cell or flow battery design
  • Experience with FEA / CFD Simulation 
  • Experience coordinating with Suppliers and Contract Manufacturers

Additional Information

The salary range for this Mechanical Engineering role is $75,000 to $105,000 and will depend on your specific skills, experience, and education.
