Job Description

  • Manage the operation of the plant to:
    • deliver customer orders on schedule and on budget
    • insure the agreed manufacturing objectives and KPI targets are met
  • Provide direction, development and leadership to the manufacturing team
  • Develop and execute on the strategy for the plant to achieve the company’s goals.
  • Work with peers in a constructive and cooperative way to resolve issues
  • Manage and control production costs and capital project costs to meet budgets
  • Develop plans and deliver continuous improvement in all areas of responsibility
  • Maintain and develop plant facilities and equipment as necessary to meet business needs
  • Lead the development of a lean culture within manufacturing
  • Develop and implement processes within manufacturing that achieve exceptional product quality, on-time delivery and productivity
  • Actively participate in global operations knowledge sharing forums to inform and adopt internal and external best practice
  • Promote activities associated with developing an Integrated Management System, driving the standards ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001 in the manufacturing and facilities environment.

Facilities

  • Manage the facility, landlord and associated services
  • Specify and manage facilities capital projects to schedule and within budget
  • Ensure processes and procedures are aligned with the relevant standards and regulations

 Health, Safety and Environment

  • Ensure that manufacturing and the facility;
    • are compliant with regulatory requirements
    • operates in accordance with health, safety and environmental policies and procedures
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in the start-up and on-going leadership of a manufacturing facility for electromechanical products
  • A minimum of 5 years of work experience in production management
  • Degree in manufacturing, operations, engineering or other technical discipline or equivalent work experience
  • Experience in managing technical & facilities projects
  • Strong negotiation, communication, influencing and listening skills
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen
  • A high level of lean management expertise
  • Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office applications
  • Analytical and methodical approach with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines

Additional Information

The salary range for this Manufacturing Manager role is $110,000 to $140,000. Salary will depend on your specific skills, experience, and education.
