Job Description

Invinity is deploying large-scale projects throughout the UK and internationally. We are looking for a trained electrician with mechanical experience to service and maintain the hardware, software and communications technologies in our energy storage systems across multiple concurrent projects. You will work closely with Field Services Engineers, Product Development and Manufacturing teams, and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Primarily service & maintenance tasks of an electrical and mechanical discipline; service checks, component replacement, troubleshooting, testing, and repair of Vanadium Flow Battery (VFB) energy storage systems on customer sites
  • Produce Risk Assessment/ Method Statements (RAMS) as required and continuously refine
  • Understand and amend (redlining) electrical and P&ID schematics of on-site changes, retrofits, as-built systems
  • Verify accuracy between the documentation and the installed system
  • Capturing and reporting of equipment issues into a database
  • Must be able and willing to travel and work at UK offices and customer sites (UK & International)
  • Other tasks as required and as is reasonable, across customer sites and Invinity premises

Qualifications

Essential experience, skills, and qualifications

  • Experienced in servicing, maintaining, and troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical equipment and sub-assemblies
  • Experienced in working on a construction site and an understanding of construction site rules and regulations (CDM)
  • Ability to engineer solutions on the job, both electrical and mechanical; strong competence using hand tools
  • Experience in both AC and DC electrical equipment
  • Able to produce when required, supporting documentation, procedures, method statements and risk assessments
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook) and general computer literacy
  • Good communication skills; polite and tactful personality
  • Right to work in the UK, valid and current Passport, and Driving Licence

Desirable

  • Experience in renewable energy generation, inverter/rectifier systems
  • Experience in the commissioning of electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Experience in computer configuration and networking, CAN bus, TCP/IP, etc.
  • Wiring regulations - 18th Edition
  • Inspection and Testing City & Guilds 2391-52
  • Any of the following certificates would be an advantage, (training will be arranged as required):
    • First Aid at work
    • Sling Training
    • Working at Height
    • Manual handling + Kinetic Lifting
    • IPAF Operator (3a, 3b & 1b)
    • Telescopic Handler
    • Forklift Training
    • Confined Space Training
    • Abrasive Wheel Awareness
    • CSCS Card or ability to attain one
    • SSSTS Site Supervisor Qualified
