Job Description

Invinity is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its product development team and lead the design of Cell stack productization in the hardware design team within Invinity’s energy storage products. In this role you \ will work closely with the Technology group in Invinity’s organization. You will be empowered to make key design and process decisions and work with others to evolve Invinity’s products and process. Become the prime interface between Mechanical engineering and technology team for cell stack productization.

Responsibilities

·   Product mechanical design, including system layout and packaging, component selection and overall product design.

·   Creating and maintaining 3D CAD models, assembly and part drawings, bills of materials, component and sub-system specifications.

·   Evaluating prototypes and first article inspection, providing feedback to suppliers

·   Developing and conduction verification testing to confirm product performance, quality and manufacturability.

·   Identify and develop relationships with key suppliers.

·   Source and manage procurement of components and subsystems.

·   Assist in contract manufacturer selection, supervision, and auditing.

·   Configuration Management of product data, including but not limited to design data, specifications, and engineering reports.

Qualifications

Requirements

·       Advanced SolidWorks or Onshape 3D modeling user with experience using sheet metal module, electrical harness design, and management of large model files

·       Exceptional engineering design, organizational and analytical skills.

·       5+ years’ experience with design and manufacturing of components and assemblies fabricated using a broad variety of DFM techniques, including welding, forming, moulding and related processes.

·       Previous experience designing outdoor sheet metal enclosures and equipment packaging an asset

·       Experience with FEA / CFD Simulation

·       Designing Cell Stack hardware, or high load compression sealing interfaces

Desirable

·       A Bachelors or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent.

·       Strong track record of electro-mechanical product design, verification, and delivery.

·       Experience in the fuel cell or flow battery design.

·       Proven ability to deliver effective solutions on budget and schedule.

·       Experience with safety and regulatory requirements / certification.

·       Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to assemble parts, physically rework designs, and safely use common work shop power tools.

·       Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

·       Highly motivated with Interest and ability to thrive in a technology company.

·       Experience coordinating with Suppliers and Contract Manufacturers, including validating costing, communicating changes and quality issues, and auditing their facilities

·       Available to travel, USA and international, to support product installed at testing facilities or Customer site
