Job Description

We are looking for a candidate to lead our commercial business in Australia.  As a strategic manager, you will be directly responsible for the commercial development, performance and growth of the Australian market for Invinity Energy Systems.  You will develop and run the commercial program, represent Invinity interests, develop external stakeholders to increase impact, and communicate opportunities, issues and risks to the leadership.

The role requires a balanced mix of technical understanding of power generation and storage, strong problem-solving attributes, and a proven history or sales and partner achievement.  Invinity is a fast-paced start-up, and creativity, confidence and comfort with uncertainty are critical success attributes. Prior experience with stationary energy storage and renewables (especially solar, wind, PCS, EMS, etc) is considered a strong asset for this position. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Meet or exceed regional objectives including sales targets; partner program recruitment; and marketing progrm objectives
  • Build a Regional strategic plan to develop or grow the high priority market segments to meet regional objectives
  • Manage a consistent rhythm of the business for reporting and communicating business progress, opportunities and challenges.  
    • Consistent forecast, monthly business reviews and strategic planning.
    • Development of performance objectives and milestones for market development.
  • Drive and grow the FOM and large BTM opportunity within the region:
    • Establish key partnerships with global Developers, IPPs and EPCs for both FTM and BTM segments.
    • Define, prioritize and develop strategies to target and grow key regional markets.
    • Execute and deliver growth through standardized and repeatable engagements.
  • Identify market initiatives and incentives to drive solution adoption and increase segment growth within the region (e.g. tax incentives, grant or development programs for renewable energy, etc).
  • Hire, Manage and develop personnel under your responsibility.
    • Day to day management as well as consistent performance feedback and continued development of employees.
    • Ensure clear definitions and performance objectives for all roles of direct reports are aligned to regional priorities.  Oversea and manage employee performance to targets.
    • Collaborate with sales leadership to develop and deliver ongoing training to employees.  Deliver both commercial and product level development training.
    • Drive consistent communication between regional employees and the rest of the company, ensuring global alignment to corporate priorities. 
  • Contribute to the ongoing strategic development of commercial plans and programs.
    • Document and share success/challenges consistently with the business development/sales leadership team.
    • Share best practices and lessons learned consistently through the leadership team forums (regular global management forums).
    • Identify and effectively escalate issues, including constructively raising issues and informing stakeholders expeditiously.

Qualifications

  • You have a Bachelor of Arts or Science degree with a background in Engineering. An MBA is preferred
  • You have Commercial leadership experience within the Energy market (preferable solar, wind, storage), with an understanding of design/build projects, development and sales.
  • You have the ability to work comfortably and achieve results in a resource-constrained high-paced start-up environment.
  • You have excellent organizational and follow up skills with the ability to communicate effectively to a broad group of constituents.
  • You have experience working across multiple countries and in the APAC region is preferred
  • You have practical experience with energy generation systems, storage systems, solar or wind power plant design and integration desired
