ASSOCIATE SCIENTIST / SCIENTIST - TRANSLATIONAL BIOPROCESS (#129)
- 505 S Rosa Rd, Madison, WI 53719, USA
Invenra is a rapidly growing biotechnology company focused on developing novel technologies for multi-specific antibody drug discovery. Using Invenra’s proprietary B-BODY™, SNIPER™ and CLUSTR™ technologies, we have created a robust pipeline of next-generation multi-specific antibodies to address unmet therapeutic needs in immuno-oncology and autoimmunity.
Invenra is seeking a highly motivated Associate Scientist / Scientist to join our Translational BioProcess team to support downstream protein purification and process development activities. This individual will support the Invenra antibody discovery platform by helping to transition candidate multi-specific antibodies to drug leads. The successful candidate will use their knowledge of protein biochemistry to work with the translational BioProcess group to produce materials needed for in vivo or cell culture experiments, develop scalable and robust purification processes for individual lead candidates, perform the experimental work, and maintain the documentation needed to successfully transfer purification processes to a Contract Manufacturing Organization in preparation for IND submissions.
Ideal candidates are currently employed or have been employed in similar types of positions and want to be a part of an expanding start-up company developing innovative therapeutics and technologies. Candidates must bring intellectual, professional and personal values that complement the founding team: the highest standard of integrity, a strong work ethic and a passion to succeed.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Work with a multidisciplinary team to execute experiments to evaluate long term developability of potential lead candidate bi-specific antibodies.
Collaborate with their manager and project CORE teams to interpret data from previous antibody expression, purification, and formulation studies to plan process development studies targeted at improving expression/purification yield, proper assembly, and overall purity.
Manage and execute routine pipeline purifications of lead candidates needed to support in vivo studies and work closely with the broader Invenra team (analytics, quality, project management) to ensure that these materials meet quality specifications, and all activities are documented for traceability.
Keep meticulous records to ensure that stage appropriate data and metrics are collected and can support activities such as CDMO collaboration for stable cell line generation, GMP manufacturing, and IND submission.
Assist in writing activities such as drafting SOPs for a growing group, and preparing development workplans and reports.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Practical experience in biochemistry, protein purification, and/or biologics process development and an understanding of various methods used in protein purification chromatography (affinity, Ion exchange, HIC, etc.) and formulation (TFF, dialysis)
A working understanding of protein characterization techniques including HPLC-SEC, mass spectrometry, BLI/SPR, etc.
A general understanding of cell culture and protein expression
Strong critical analysis skills to evaluate data and make decisions in the areas of protein expression, purification, and formulation
Experience with AKTA chromatography stations and Unicorn software is a plus.
Experience with interfacing with GMP-level documentation, executing batch records, writing and executing SOPs is a plus.
BS or MS in biochemistry or related field and multiple years’ work experience in a related field. Exact level and title dependent on experience
