Descripción de la empresa
It started with a simple idea: what if surgery could be less invasive and recovery less painful? Nearly 30 years later, that question still fuels everything we do at Intuitive. As a global leader in robotic-assisted surgery and minimally invasive care, our technologies—like the da Vinci surgical system and Ion—have transformed how care is delivered for millions of patients worldwide.
We’re a team of engineers, clinicians, and innovators united by one purpose: to make surgery smarter, safer, and more human. Every day, our work helps care teams perform with greater precision and patients recover faster, improving outcomes around the world.
The problems we solve demand creativity, rigor, and collaboration. The work is challenging, but deeply meaningful—because every improvement we make has the potential to change a life.
If you’re ready to contribute to something bigger than yourself and help transform the future of healthcare, you’ll find your purpose here.
Descripción del empleo
Primary Function of Position
The Manufacturing Rework Process Author (IPC Author Specialist) creates, reviews, and maintains accurate In-Process Correction (IPC) instructions, also called manufacturing rework processes, in SAP Manufacturing Execution (SAP ME). The role converts approved rework process flows and current-state IPC documentation into clear, executable SAP ME-based IPCs; coordinates Manufacturing Engineering and manufacturing review and approval; and supports dry-run validation for critical or high-risk IPCs before production use.
The position authors new IPCs and updates existing IPCs to help reduce production disruption, nonconformance risk, rework, and IT escalations caused by incomplete or incorrect IPC content. The specialist in this position will support activities like development, validation and maintenance of instruments and / or accessories packaging processes across the company, according to the criteria established in internal procedures (SOP’s, WI’s) and the quality standards applicable to the medical industry, to guarantee the integrity of the finished product.
Essential Job Duties
- IPC Authoring & Maintenance: Author new and revised IPCs directly in SAP ME using approved rework process flows, controlled source documents, line information, and input from Manufacturing Engineers and subject matter experts.
- Legacy IPC Conversion: Review current-state and legacy IPC content and partner with Manufacturing Engineering to organize it into meaningful, executable subsets for SAP ME authoring.
- Content Accuracy & Execution Readiness: Refine IPC content using SAP ME execution learnings, SP Instrument experience, approved process requirements, and Manufacturing Engineer feedback. Ensure instructions are clear, complete, correctly sequenced, and practical for manufacturing execution.
- Cross-Functional Review & Approval: Coordinate review, correction, and approval with Manufacturing Engineers, Manufacturing Trainers, Product Quality, and other required stakeholders.
- Dry-Run Validation: Plan and support dry runs of critical or high-risk IPCs using dummy work orders in SAP ME before production use. Document issues and drive corrections to closure.
- Risk Identification & Escalation: Identify content or system gaps that may cause production stoppage, rework, nonconformance, or IT escalation, and escalate them before release.
- Planning & Traceability: Maintain authoring status, review comments, approvals, validation evidence, and readiness for assigned IPCs.
- Standards & Continuous Improvement: Develop and apply reusable authoring standards, templates, checklists, and best practices to improve consistency and authoring efficiency.
- Translation Coordination: Coordinate with Spanish and German translators on translation of authored IPCs in SAP ME.
- Document Control & Change Management: Create, revise, release, and maintain applicable engineering documents, parts, bills of materials, and engineering change orders using PLM and SAP ME systems while ensuring compliance, traceability, and documentation integrity.
- Knowledge Transfer: Provide knowledge transfer so Manufacturing Engineers can update and maintain IPCs over the long term and share workload and best practices with engineering teams.
- Rollout & Stabilization Support: Support current and future SAP ME rollouts, including authoring waves, stabilization updates, and lessons learned.
