Opportunity

The Global Expansion Manager plays a critical role in enabling our vision by driving the successful and accelerated commercialization of products within the assigned region. This leader is accountable for accelerating product availability in regional markets, ensuring launches are timely, effective, and strategically aligned with both global roadmaps and regional commercial priorities. Acting as the Directly Responsible Individual (DRI), the role bridges global product teams and local stakeholders—removing barriers, identifying accelerators, and enabling market readiness that advances patient access and Intuitive’s long-term growth.

Primary Function

Ensure seamless alignment between regional commercial priorities and global product strategies. Translate global MRD/PRD requirements into actionable regional deliverables, lead Local Product Readiness Plans, and guide commercial teams on product knowledge, pricing, and launch readiness. Anticipate risks, identify accelerators, and ensure organizational preparedness to scale innovation and sustain growth.

Essential Responsibilities

Project Commercialization & Acceleration

  • Act as DRI to advance products through internal approval and APL workflows for commercialization across worldwide indirect globally.
  • Accelerate the introduction of products in the region by removing barriers, identifying enablers, and driving readiness across markets.
  • Monitor commercial readiness milestones across countries and provide executive-level updates on progress, risks, and accelerators.
  • Align launch activities with 1-, 3-, and 5-year strategic and revenue objectives.
  • Work closely with the business units and commercial teams to help achieve quarterly and annual commercial goals.
  • Lead and Partner with Finance, Commercial, Regulatory, Business Unit, Manufacturing and other related teams to ensure full readiness for market introductions.
  • Report directly to the Vice President & General Manager of Worldwide Indirect.

Regional Product Readiness

  • Develop and present regional/country business plans in alignment with all business units, distribution leadership and commercial teams.
  • Develop and execute Local Product Readiness Plans aligned with global processes and Approved Product List approvals.
  • Ensure translation of Market Required Documents/Product Requirements Document into regional deliverables (e.g., IFU, pricing inputs, regulatory compliance).
  • Collaborate with Tech Pubs, Master Scheduling, Commercial, and Business Units to reflect local needs in launch plans.
  • Provide regional product expertise to customer-facing teams and resolve product-related escalations.
  • Track progress and remove obstacles to ensure success.

Key Interfaces & Collaboration Partners

  • Global Business Units – marketing, product development, and regional implementation needs.
  • Commercial Leadership – Market readiness and voice of customer.
  • Finance – Forecasting, revenue planning, risk management.
  • Regulatory & Tech Pubs – Local documentation and compliance.
  • Manufacturing & Master Scheduling – Production forecasts and launch timing.
  • Distribution partners – GM, regulatory and commercial leadership and teams.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of product development, lifecycle management, and commercialization.
  • Proven project management expertise; success in complex, matrixed environments.
  • Exceptional executive communication and stakeholder influence skills.
  • Strong ability to collaborate and agility in a high growth environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced certifications in project management or commercialization.
  • 5+ years experience in medical device, healthcare, or technology. Robotics experience and disruptive technologies a plus.
  • Familiarity with regulatory processes and market access.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools (e.g., Teams, OneNote).

  • Regionally aligned Commercialization, Acceleration, and Readiness Plans.
  • Timely and accelerated product launches meeting strategic and revenue objectives.
  • Regional deliverables: pricing recommendations, IFU requirements, launch forecasts.
  • Strong stakeholder alignment and satisfaction through proactive communication.

  • Accelerated time-to-market and on-time regional launches.
  • Alignment with revenue projections and long-term growth.
