Company Description

It started with a simple idea: what if surgery could be less invasive and recovery less painful? Nearly 30 years later, that question still fuels everything we do at Intuitive. As a global leader in robotic-assisted surgery and minimally invasive care, our technologies—like the da Vinci surgical system and Ion—have transformed how care is delivered for millions of patients worldwide.

We’re a team of engineers, clinicians, and innovators united by one purpose: to make surgery smarter, safer, and more human. Every day, our work helps care teams perform with greater precision and patients recover faster, improving outcomes around the world.

The problems we solve demand creativity, rigor, and collaboration. The work is challenging, but deeply meaningful—because every improvement we make has the potential to change a life.

If you’re ready to contribute to something bigger than yourself and help transform the future of healthcare, you’ll find your purpose here.

Job Description

Primary Function of Position:

The HR Partner is a client-facing role that will work closely with Centers of Expertise (COEs) and HR Business Leaders (HRBLs) to partner with business leaders and employees to provide high-touch, face-to-face support on key HR processes. The HR Partner will support teams to resolve complex issues and tasks that are not handled by the People Services team because a greater level of care, judgment, or support is required. The HR Partner will utilize HR expertise, along with geographic, business unit, and function-specific knowledge, to solve talent-related problems, support leaders with recurring HR programs, and support special initiatives across the business.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• In collaboration with managers, build a positive employee environment that emphasizes Intuitive’s culture, core values, and individual and leadership expectations.

• Provide day-to-day support to HRBLs across large client groups, ensuring the appropriate level of support is provided at the right time.

• Actively partner with the People Services team to successfully deliver on cyclical processes and support business needs.

• Act as a liaison between client groups and the Employee Relations and People Services teams to escalate cases, identify areas of opportunity, provide constructive feedback, and engage in effective problem-solving when challenges arise.

• Serve as a key connection point to COEs, helping customize solutions and programs, as needed, to meet business needs.

• Act as project lead for the delivery of recurring HR services and core processes (e.g., P&C process, EX Survey, Goal setting).

• Deliver expert coaching and consulting to senior management and employees to drive a high-performance culture.

• Build manager capability through coaching and facilitation of various training programs across client groups and regions.

• Provide guidance and coaching on HR and talent programs, including merit, performance review, performance improvement, talent planning, talent development, succession planning, and other core talent processes.

• Ensure delivery of a sustainable, consistent employee experience that is aligned with the HR strategy and employee value proposition. Escalate feedback to People Services teams, as needed.

• Understand business requests and partner with other HR leaders to determine the most effective solution, execution approach, and course of action.

• Continuously monitor the performance of HR programs locally and serve as the voice of the business with COEs by providing real-time feedback, when needed. Effectively articulate business requirements and needs to People Services and COE teams.

• Participate in various HR projects across recruiting, performance management, playbook development, program and policy development and implementation, and other priority initiatives.

• Proactively leverage data and dashboards to assess trends, identify issues and themes, and develop data-driven insights and solutions for supported client groups.

• Act as the local “face of HR” for locations with large employee populations, providing feedback and input when necessary and escalating issues, as needed.

• Leverage technology and defined processes to deliver services globally. Use AI fluently and responsibly as part of everyday work, partnering with AI to generate insights, improve productivity, and deliver stronger outcomes across business priorities.
