Job Description
Primary Function of Position
Area Sales Manager is responsible for selling the daVinci™ Surgical System to hospitals within the assigned territory. This requires a number of capabilities including expert-level knowledge in the use of surgical robotics, the ability to build a team of advocates within each hospital, strong solution-selling skills, and enough tenacity to ensure sales objectives are met on a consistent basis. Area Sales Managers are expected to provide an extraordinary degree of information gathering and presenting to buying teams throughout the capital equipment purchasing process
Essential Job Duties
Drive da Vinci™ Surgical System adoption to improve the clinical outcome for patients.
Manage the complex sales process of the da Vinci™ Surgical Systems into new hospitals and upgrades into existing hospitals
Develop and execute short, mid, and long-term strategies to maximize system adoption in the assigned territory. This includes data analytics on customers’ demands, trends, and field dynamics based on excellent market intelligence and system knowledge.
Manage and lead multiple projects to maintain the pipeline health to achieve the quarter/annual business target
Lead close collaboration with the Clinical Sales, marketing, and relevant cross-functions to manage the sale of da Vinci™ Surgical Systems to greenfield and existing hospitals and grow the utilization of their installed base within the assigned territory
Manage KOL and accounts to identify business development opportunities in both system adoption and procedure growth, and successfully execute system deals
Effectively manage the transition of initial sale and installation to the clinical sales team to drive procedural volume growth
Building clinical and administrative support through KOL development, clinical and technical presentations, executive meetings, marketing events and system Test-drives
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Approximately 10~12 years of commercial experience, minimum 5 years’ solid sales experience in the healthcare or high-tech industries including but not limited to medical devices, clinical diagnostics, etc. will be a plus
Highly committed, competitive, and goal-driven sales professional with a proven track record in achieving sales goals, and creating dynamic team relationships
Self-motivated, results-oriented individual with a strong work ethic and a metric-based process orientation
Excellent learning agility to capture market insight from comprehensive perspectives to lead short, mid, and long-term capital strategy
Leadership presence with an ability to obtain results through with strong influence and engagement skills
Strong project management capability to set clear shared goals, execute the key milestones, and engage with diverse internal & external stakeholders
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills in both the Korean and English command
Knowledge of the operating room environment preferred
