Company Description
It started with a simple idea: what if surgery could be less invasive and recovery less painful? Nearly 30 years later, that question still fuels everything we do at Intuitive. As a global leader in robotic-assisted surgery and minimally invasive care, our technologies—like the da Vinci surgical system and Ion—have transformed how care is delivered for millions of patients worldwide.
We’re a team of engineers, clinicians, and innovators united by one purpose: to make surgery smarter, safer, and more human. Every day, our work helps care teams perform with greater precision and patients recover faster, improving outcomes around the world.
The problems we solve demand creativity, rigor, and collaboration. The work is challenging, but deeply meaningful—because every improvement we make has the potential to change a life.
If you’re ready to contribute to something bigger than yourself and help transform the future of healthcare, you’ll find your purpose here.
Job Description
Primary Function of Position
The SFDC Technical Lead is responsible for leading the design, development, and delivery of complex Salesforce solutions. This role provides technical leadership across declarative and programmatic capabilities, ensuring the right design approach is used for scalability, performance, security, and long-term maintainability. The role mentors developers, governs architecture decisions, and partners closely with architects, business stakeholders, and security teams.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical lead for Salesforce initiatives, owning end-to-end solution design and delivery.
- Make architecture and design decisions across Salesforce, clearly determining when to use Flows, Apex, LWC, integrations, or configuration-based solutions.
- Partner with enterprise architects, product owners, security teams, and business analysts to design scalable and secure Salesforce solutions.
- Provide hands-on development while leading all technical aspects of Salesforce implementations including integrations, data migrations, automations, and platform customization.
- Own architectural standards for Flows, Apex, LWC, integrations, data models, error handling, and security design.
- Ensure Flows are designed for performance, maintainability, and governance; review and refactor complex Flows when needed.
- Enforce coding standards, perform peer code and Flow reviews, and ensure adherence to Salesforce best practices.
- Define and govern CI/CD, release management, and environment strategy across Salesforce orgs.
- Identify technical risks, performance bottlenecks, and security gaps and drive mitigation strategies.
- Mentor and guide Salesforce developers, providing architectural direction and design feedback.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex production issues and drive root-cause analysis.
- Review Salesforce Optimizer, Security Health Check, and similar assessments and drive remediation.
- Collaborate with Salesforce Support and third-party vendors when deeper platform investigation is required.
- Author and maintain technical design documents, architecture diagrams, and solution standards.
- Drive innovation, POCs, and adoption of new Salesforce platform capabilities.
- Ensure compliance with organizational standards, security policies, SOX controls, and change management processes.

- Strong expertise in Apex with proven experience building scalable, enterprise-grade solutions.
- Advanced expertise in Salesforce Flows (Record-Triggered, Screen, Scheduled, and Orchestrated Flows).
- Proven ability to evaluate and choose the right approach—Flow vs Apex vs configuration—based on complexity, scale, and long-term supportability.
- Extensive experience with Lightning Web Components (LWC) and solid understanding of Aura components.
- Experience leading at least one full-cycle Salesforce implementation as a Technical Lead.
- Strong understanding of Salesforce security model, sharing rules, field-level security, and compliance requirements.
