Job Description

Primary Function of Position:

As a member of the Global Operations HR team, this HR leader will serve as the primary HR partner to a greenfield manufacturing site, providing hands‑on, human‑capital leadership that enables safe, compliant, and scalable operations from start‑up through steady state. This role partners closely with Site and Manufacturing leadership to translate business and operational priorities into practical workforce, organizational, and leadership solutions, while ensuring full compliance with Malaysian employment legislation, labor relations requirements, and regulatory standards. As a member of the Site Manufacturing Leadership Team and the Global Operations HR community, this leader is expected to operate with enterprise mindset, balancing local execution excellence with global consistency, and to role‑model Intuitive leadership behaviors grounded in trust, accountability, and transparency.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Strategic HR & Site Partnership

  • Partner with Site and Functional Leaders to translate operational and manufacturing goals into workforce plans, organization design, talent strategies, and employee engagement solutions aligned to site ramp‑up and long‑term sustainability.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the Site Leadership Team, providing sound judgement, practical solutions, and candid coaching across leadership, culture, and people decisions.

Greenfield Manufacturing Build & Operations

  • Lead HR readiness for greenfield manufacturing, including workforce build‑out, leadership hiring, policy establishment, site governance, and operating rhythm. This will include being main point of contact for our HR Workstream for the Greenfield project.

  • Support operational excellence by aligning HR processes to manufacturing realities such as shift structures, labor optimization, productivity, EHS, quality, and compliance expectations.

  • Proactively collaborate with client group leaders to translate business needs into impactful talent strategies and solutions that support business objectives. 

  • Implement corporate/regional strategies and programs into the business; measure and track success and proactively drive improvement. Influence the design of future programs to better support the business. 

Local Regulatory, Compliance & Employee Relations Leadership

  • Act as the site expert on Malaysia employment legislation, labor relations, compliance requirements, and employee relations, ensuring alignment with statutory obligations and company standards.

  • Proactively identify risks and advise leaders on complex employee matters, disciplinary actions, investigations, and dispute resolution, ensuring sound, compliant outcomes.

  • Represent HR in regulatory, audit, and governance forums, partnering closely with Legal, Compliance, EHS, and Global HR COEs.

Talent, Leadership & Organization Effectiveness

  • In partnership with our Talent Acquisition Lead and Global Talent Management Lead, champion the local execution of talent acquisition, performance management, succession planning, and workforce planning, with particular focus on critical manufacturing and leadership roles.

  • Coach and enable leaders to demonstrate Intuitive leadership expectations, including accountability, inclusion, high performance, and continuous improvement.

  • Use data and insights (e.g., organization health, turnover, engagement) to shape people strategies and inform leadership decisions.

Change, Culture & Communication

  • In partnership with our Global Talent Management Lead (GTM) and the Site VP, design and implement the new Plants cultural strategy

  • Lead and support change management initiatives associated with site expansion, process changes, organizational growth, and cultural integration.

  • Champion a culture of safety, respect, inclusion, and continuous improvement, acting as a visible role model of Intuitive values and leadership standards.

HR Team Enablement & Matrix Collaboration

  • Provide informal leadership, coaching, and development to site‑based HR team members within the matrix environment.

  • Partner effectively with Global Operations HR, Regional HRBLs, HR COEs, and People Services to ensure seamless service delivery and strong stakeholder experience.

 

Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

Skills & Abilities:

  • Deep expertise in Malaysia employment law, labor relations, and statutory compliance, with proven experience advising leaders in a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong manufacturing HR background, ideally including greenfield or start‑up site experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to operate hands‑on while maintaining a strategic, enterprise perspective.

  • Cultural leadership – modeling value and expectations

  • Analytical and conceptual thinking skills; ability to support recommendations through data and analysis. “Telling a story through data”

  • Ability to generate and apply novel talent solutions to support the business.

  • Ability to remain focused with strong attention to detail and deliver exceptional quality work.

  • Ability to influence and challenge executive leaders

  • Exceptional communication (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build trust, credibility, and strong, productive relationships.

  • Familiarity and comfort in working in a highly matrixed organization.

  • Ability to travel internationally approximately 5-10% of the time when Plant is Operational, but increase in travel during Greenfield/build phase to US and MX ~25-30%.

Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelors (BS/BA) in Business Management, Human Resources, or related field is required 

  • Minimum of 15 year’s experience; of which 5+ years as a Sr HRBL

  • Relevant industry experience and/or experience working within a US multinational company

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in a Manufacturing environment is required 

  • Fluent in English
