Job Description
Primary Function of Position
The Sr. Product Manager, Singleport Portfolio Operations, will be responsible for regional product portfolio operations to drive the launch and execution of our da Vinci Singleport business.
The Sr. Product Manager will be responsible to drive strategic planning, operational support, and product launch execution across the Singleport da Vinci product portfolio to help maximize value delivery to US hospitals, surgeons, and patients.
Responsibilities include: collaborating with global corporate portfolio marketing, product management, and the US Commercial team to execute new product launch strategies, and manage day to day portfolio operations that are critical to the US commercial business.
The Sr Product Manager, Singleport Portfolio Operations will serve as the downstream point of contact for our internal teams within the da Vinci Singleport business unit to represent the US business.
Roles and Responsibilities:
This position has responsibility and authority for:
- Execute regional downstream roadmaps for Singleport systems, products, and training technologies to include customizing the messaging and campaign strategies that meet the needs of the US customer base.
- Help develop frameworks, processes, and resources to scale regional evidence generation to quantify the value across the Da Vinci product portfolio (Singleport, Single Port, and Digital).
- Manage supply chain and backorder process for da Vinci Singleport products in the US Region. Monitor and contribute to product forecasting, particularly for new product launches.
- Manage da Vinci Singleport field action processes in alignment with US Commercial teams to minimize customer impact and drive compliance with regulations.
- Responsibility for da Vinci Singleport US Portfolio lifecycle management (new product introduction, and obsolescence).
- Work closely with leadership to establish financial budget and resource allocation, and consistently use data and analytics to drive strategic and tactical decisions as well as to justify programs through ROI metrics.
- Lead da Vinci Singleport product launch process in alignment with the US commercial sales and marketing, Global Corporate Marketing and Product Management teams.
- Collect and disseminate US customer feedback through US tradeshow support, customer interviews, focus groups, and KOL case observations to share with US Commercial marketing, Product Management, and Global Corporate Marketing Teams.
- Collaborate upstream to identify new data sets and develop resources to proactively identify and solve product issues to enhance customer satisfaction and successful product adoption across the da Vinci Singleport business.
- Develop in-region business justification for new products, 3rd party partnerships or Ecosystem resources in the US and aligns with internal teams around prioritization
- Assists with the delivery of ongoing product training to US sales, training and customer support teams.
Key Deliverables:
- Product launch plans and collateral for new product launches in the US region.
- Early KOL development plans and resources to help customers quantify the value of our da Vinci Singleport product portfolio.
- Execute customer facing programs designed to gain feedback currently available, recently launched, and future products.
- Conducts customer feedback surveys and qualitative VOC with early-stage and mature product lines, and share recommendations and feedback to internal teams, and Commercial Marketing on positioning, value messaging, and desired enhancements.
- Define and Implement strategy and tactics to better educate the sales reps and surgeons on the clinical value of key da Vinci technologies.
- Supports the delivery of US quarterly product forecasts for systems, instruments and accessories, and advanced technologies.
- Develop the in-region core positioning and messaging for new product launches.
- Conduct product training for departments in the US including Commercial Marketing, Sales, Product Training and Customer Support.
- Acts as external champion of the product in the US, identifying and communicating all product issues that need resolution.
- Track competitive products and emerging technology.
Qualifications
Core Competencies, Skills and Experience Requirements
- Excellent presentation skills and experience with presenting to surgeons and hospital executives.
- Previous surgical marketing experience in advanced energy or stapling of more than 2 years preferred.
- Previous surgical sales experience preferred, but not required.
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in a therapeutic or medical device company required.
- Surgical and/or Operating Room experience in sales or marketing required.
- Experience collaborating with Sales, Marketing Teams, Operations, and Customer Service required.
- Proven ability to effectively segment, target, position and message the product / procedure and develop strong sales support to drive product / procedure adoption
- Demonstrated ability to work creatively, prioritize and smoothly manage goals and initiatives amidst competing priorities.
- Strong analytical capability and intuition required.
- Self-starter with ability to problem solve and establish solutions in a high-growth and fast-pace environment.
- Superior verbal/written communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills across multiple constituents.
- Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office product suite.
- Ability to travel 50%, domestic.
Education and Training Requirements
- Bachelor degree required, MBA or Masters degree preferred.
