Job Description

Primary Function of Position

Position Overview: The Sr. Manager Business Operations will report to the Vice President Quality Systems and Compliance (QSC) and work with the leadership team to govern strategic initiatives, monitor and identify operational efficiency metrics / programs, and key CIP/WIN goals, and ensure effective communication across the organization. In addition to supporting the QSC team, this role will also support the RAQA leadership team to drive departmental initiatives.  This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, operational expertise, and excellent interpersonal skills.

Essential Job Duties

  • Strategic Planning and Execution:
    • Partner with the VP QSC and the RAQA leadership team to develop and implement the company’s strategic plan and departmental goals.
    • Monitor progress and problem solve on strategic initiatives and provide regular updates to the RAQA leadership team.
    • Identify opportunities for departmental growth and process improvement in line with the organization goals and objectives.
    • Facilitate development of organizational goals, metrics and tactics.
  • Operational Management:
    • Establish, control, and monitor strategic plans, and CIP / WIN goals.
    • Assist in KPI development / alignment tracking, and reporting..
    • Evaluate, Implement and improve business processes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
    • Help to drive departmental initiatives on behalf of the RAQA organization.
  • Communication and Coordination:
    • Act as a liaison between the VP QSC, senior management, and other staff members to organize departmental goals and results.
    • Managing and coordinating meetings, including preparing agendas, taking minutes, and following up on action items.
    • Facilitate effective communication within the QSC and RAQA organization through the coordination and facilitation of all employee meetings, site townhalls, etc.
    • Prepare and manage internal and external communications on behalf of the VP QSC
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Act as a central contact or escalation point for issues impacting the QSC organization and drive problem resolution
    • Represent the QSC VP and/or Leadership team both internally or externally in cross-functional meetings, forums, or other settings as needed
    • Mentor and support the professional development of team members.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

  • Strong track record of leading strategic initiatives from concept through to completion.
  • Excellent stakeholder management required
  • Excellent conflict resolution skills and ability to motivate a project team required
  • Experience with Smartsheet, MS Project, or similar project management software required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, proven ability to translate analytical information into effective presentations required
  • Solid attention to detail, organization skills, and extensive ability to multi-task across multiple projects/activities in a team setting required

Required Education and Training

  • Education: Minimum Bachelors degree or associates with equivalent work experience. Non-technical degree with equivalent complex medical device experience acceptable
  • Experience/Skills: Minimum 12 years relevant experience (i.e. program management) required

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in medical device, life sciences, or pharmaceuticals strongly preferred
  • An MBA or other advanced degree is preferred.
  • Experience in data analysis and budget management
  • Consulting experience, with a focus on operations management
  • Proven success in a project coordination role
  • Nimble business mind, focused on developing creative solutions
  • Strong project-reporting skills, with focus on interdepartmental communications
  • Six Sigma - Green Belt certified or higher preferred
