Job Description

Primary Function of Position

We are seeking a solution-oriented, customer-first minded, and hands-on professional to bring digital solutions to realization and provide dedicated support for our networked and digital offerings. The Technical Implementation Project Manager (TIPM)  is responsible for ensuring the scheduling, planning, and execution of technical activities related to the implementation of Intuitive’s networked products and solutions such as Intuitive Hub, Telepresence, Onsite, Simulation, etc. are achieved to the highest customer satisfaction. The TIPM will also establish and maintain internal processes with the manager and train and support related team members. This is a key position within our digital organization and will work closely with other departments.

Essential Job Duties 

  • Act as subject matter expert for relevant business systems and processes related to the implementation of Intuitive’s digital products and solutions.
  • Provide leadership and project management for all implementations, expansions, and upgrades of Intuitive Hub, including working closely with Digital Solution Integration Specialist (DSIS), Product Integration Engineer (PIE), Field Service, Customer Service, Supply Chain, and other teams to ensure all activities are completed on time.
  • Work with DSIS to create project charters for implementations including scope, objectives, schedule, tasks, stakeholders, and members and track completion.
  • Create and maintain documentation including process maps, work instructions, SOPs, etc. to ensure clarity and accuracy of implementation steps from contracting to activation, either directly or supporting other teams.
  • Ensure that project related documentation and closure of work orders (FSOs) are completed in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with all implementation project team members on a regular basis to ensure that alignment on tasks and objectives is maintained
  • Support the DSIS in managing specific implementations including joining customer calls and meetings as needed
  • Ensure that resources are assigned adequately to implementation projects, work to resolve issues that could delay goal achievement, and escalate risks effectively.
  • Coordinate the scheduling and shipment of product to customer site along with relevant departments
  • Understand and support new product introductions, modifying process flows and documentation as needed and preparing teams for launches in regards to technical implementation
  • Manage technical requirements for internal systems
  • Other tasks associated with project management for digital products as assigned by manager.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience 

  • 5+ years of experience in relevant position (technical support, engineering, project management), required
  • Excellent organization and communication skills
  • Complex problem-solving skills
  • Strong personal management and administrative ability
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Japanese language: Native level
  • English language: Business level written and oral ability
  • Occasional overseas travel required

Required Education and Training 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, healthcare, or business administration, or equivalent training/experience

Working Conditions

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Strong knowledge of SAP, SFDC, or similar business systems, preferred
  • Project Management Professional certification, preferred
  • Understanding of network operations and configurations, preferred
  • Understanding of information security and privacy best practices (i.e. ISO 27001), preferred
  • Ability to discuss technical information with a wide range of audiences adeptly, preferred
