Job Description

ITU is a private, non-profit, WASC Senior Commission-accredited, a graduate university offering Masters and doctoral degrees and certificate programs in the fields of electrical engineering, computer engineering, software engineering, business administration, engineering management, computer science, cybersecurity, digital arts, and interdisciplinary sciences. Established in 1994, ITU offers a unique model of industry-linked education. The university provides centers and institutes for training, testing, and professional certification in a variety of technology-relevant specialties, as well as an accelerator program for start-up technology companies. ITU currently serves approximately 900 students from 54 different countries.

Located in the heart of Silicon Valley, close to leading technology companies, ITU’s curricular model seeks to provide students with the most current, industry-relevant developments in their respective fields, built on a solid foundation of disciplinary principles and skills. The Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) is the university’s chief academic officer and serve as the senior deputy to the university president. The Provost/ VPAA is responsible for the quality and integrity of the university’s academic policies, offerings, and program development, consistent with the university’s mission. Academic department chairs, the registrar, institutional research, academic advising, library services, and a small staff report to the Provost/ VPAA. The university is seeking a collaborative leader of high integrity, who is committed to shared governance, strategic development, and continuous quality improvement in all aspects of the university’s teaching and research programs. The Provost/ VPAA will establish and maintain relationships with industry professionals and organizations in support of research and educational opportunities. The Provost/ VPAA will serve as primary liaison to the Board’s Academic and Student Affairs Committee.

Qualifications

Qualifications for the position include an earned doctorate from a regionally accredited institution, 10 years of graduate teaching, research, and assessment experience, as well as scholarly contributions appropriate for the rank of professor in a doctoral-granting university. Five years of progressively responsible administrative experience at the levels of chairman of a major academic department, research center director, dean or chief academic officer of a regionally accredited university in the US.

Compensation:

Compensation based on experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
