Laboratory Technician
- Full-time
Company Description
Take your laboratory skills beyond the traditional healthcare setting with an international assignment on Diego Garcia, a remote island in the Indian Ocean. You'll support patient care, medical screening, and occupational health services where accurate testing and reliable laboratory operations are essential.
At International SOS Government Medical Services, you'll support healthcare programs that improve patient care and operational readiness across the U.S. and internationally. Founded in 1984, International SOS operates in more than 90 countries, delivering healthcare, medical assistance, emergency response, and workforce support services worldwide.
Job Description
As a Laboratory Technician, you will collect or process specimens when authorized, perform or coordinate approved basic tests, and report results to the clinicians responsible for patient decisions. The role supports medical, occupational, and readiness screening within the limits of the on-island laboratory. You will help maintain equipment and supplies while following defined quality, safety, and documentation procedures.
Laboratory work supports both patient evaluation and directed medical or occupational screening. You will follow written procedures and quality controls, maintain assigned competency records, and help ensure equipment faults or questionable conditions are recognized and addressed. Where testing is coordinated rather than performed on site, accurate labeling, handling, and timely reporting remain essential parts of the process.
Employment Type: Full-time

- Monitor consumables and supply availability, communicate replenishment needs, and support clinical screening with other healthcare professionals.
- Escalate patient safety concerns and suspend affected activities when required; participate in applicable training and emergency exercises.
You will contribute careful technical work and reliable reporting to a multidisciplinary clinic that depends on timely, accurate laboratory support.
