Company Description
Provide executive clinical leadership within a remote-site healthcare program where medical governance, physician oversight, patient safety, and operational continuity directly influence the quality and effectiveness of care delivery.
At International SOS Government Medical Services, you'll support healthcare programs that improve patient care and operational readiness across the U.S. and internationally. Founded in 1984, International SOS operates in more than 90 countries, delivering healthcare, medical assistance, emergency response, and workforce support services worldwide.
Job Description
You'll serve as the senior clinical leader for a multidisciplinary healthcare program supporting a diverse workforce in a remote-site healthcare environment. This role combines executive medical leadership with active clinical practice, making it well suited for an experienced physician who values both direct patient care and the opportunity to shape healthcare quality, governance, and operational performance.
Working closely with site leadership and clinical teams, you'll oversee medical services across the program while helping ensure safe, compliant, and effective healthcare delivery. You'll guide clinical governance initiatives, support physician and provider performance, and maintain oversight of patient care standards, emergency preparedness, and organizational medical operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead clinical governance, quality improvement, patient safety, infection control, medical record standards, credentialing activities, and emergency preparedness initiatives across the healthcare program.
- Oversee physicians, surgeons, advanced practice providers, dentists, and other medical personnel while providing strategic direction for medical services and physician practice programs.
- Chair the Medical Executive Committee and provide oversight of committees including Pharmacy & Therapeutics, Credentialing and Privileging, Peer Review, and Infection Control, ensuring appropriate reporting, documentation, and follow-through.
- Guide clinical case management, medical referrals, patient movement decisions, and medical evacuation coordination while collaborating with external healthcare partners and medical transport providers.
- Participate in organizational planning, policy development, government stakeholder meetings, audits, operational readiness activities, and business continuity planning from a medical leadership perspective.
- Deliver direct patient care including medical evaluation, triage, diagnosis, treatment of acute, chronic, and emergent conditions, preventive care, annual physicals, immunizations, testing, follow-up care, and clinical documentation.
- Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic testing; prescribe medications and therapies; maintain continuity of care; and ensure accurate, complete medical records.
- Support workforce medical clearance compliance, participate in mass casualty exercises and emergency response activities, and provide liaison support to external healthcare organizations when continuity of care requires coordination.
This is a role for a physician leader who is ready to balance clinical practice with meaningful responsibility for healthcare quality, governance, and organizational impact.
