Position Overview

The Pharmacist is responsible for medication preparation, dispensing, patient counseling, and pharmacy operations management within a clinical care setting. Working closely with healthcare providers and support staff, this role plays a key part in optimizing treatment plans, supporting patient safety, and maintaining efficient pharmacy workflows.

This position also provides oversight of pharmacy inventory, medication compliance, and pharmacy technician support while helping ensure adherence to clinical standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, interpret, and dispense prescriptions while ensuring accurate medication preparation and safe pharmaceutical practices
  • Provide patient counseling and education regarding medication usage, dosage, side effects, interactions, and treatment expectations
  • Monitor medication therapies for safety, effectiveness, and regulatory compliance while supporting quality patient outcomes
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare teams to optimize medication management and clinical care plans
  • Oversee pharmacy inventory, including medication procurement, storage, distribution, and inventory control processes
  • Supervise and support pharmacy technician activities to maintain efficient pharmacy operations and quality standards
  • Maintain accurate documentation and utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems to support clinical workflows and patient care
  • Participate in required compliance education, health screenings, and organizational training activities

Qualifications

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited pharmacy school required
  • Current unrestricted U.S. Pharmacist license required with active BLS certification or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of recent pharmacy experience, including at least 6 months within the past year
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office applications required
  • Strong clinical judgment, medication management, patient counseling, and interdisciplinary communication skills
  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident Card required with a valid U.S. passport maintaining at least 18 months before expiration
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (MRPT)
  • Ability to relocate to Iraq for the duration of the assignment and meet pre-deployment medical and physical requirements, including prolonged standing, sitting, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 25 pounds

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience supporting care delivery within military, government, or remote clinical environments
  • Prior experience working as a government subcontractor or prime contractor preferred
