Position Overview

The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures including computed tomography (CT) and X-ray examinations to support patient assessment, diagnosis, and ongoing care. This role works closely with clinical teams to ensure accurate imaging, patient safety, and efficient workflow in a collaborative healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform CT and X-ray imaging studies as ordered by providers while ensuring image quality, patient safety, and adherence to radiology protocols
  • Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures, explain exams, and provide supportive patient care throughout the imaging process
  • Operate and adjust radiologic equipment, exposure settings, and immobilization devices to obtain accurate diagnostic images
  • Practice radiation safety techniques including patient shielding, beam restriction, and exposure minimization for patients and staff
  • Document imaging procedures and patient care activities within electronic medical records and departmental systems
  • Respond appropriately to contrast reactions and other patient care situations using established protocols and emergency response procedures
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant imaging environment while following infection prevention and organizational standards
  • Participate in emergency preparedness activities, including mass casualty exercises and operational readiness events

Qualifications

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program leading to a diploma, certificate, or associate degree; equivalent U.S. military radiology training may be accepted
  • Minimum of 3 years of recent Radiologic Technologist experience, including at least 6 months within the last year
  • Current unrestricted radiologic technologist license or active American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification required
  • ARRT CT certification/registration required
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to meet pre-deployment medical and physical requirements, including prolonged standing and lifting up to 25 pounds
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status required with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government MRPT clearance
  • Valid U.S. passport with a minimum of 18 months remaining prior to departure and ability to maintain a current passport throughout assignment
  • Ability to relocate to Iraq for the duration of the assignment and communicate effectively in English

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience supporting healthcare services on military or government-supported sites
  • Experience working in high-acuity or operational healthcare environments
  • Strong interdisciplinary communication and patient-care coordination skills
