Job Description
The Occupational Health Registered Nurse will assume responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing, and performing employment related health screening. The nurse works as a part of the medical team to protect and promote the health of the working population. They play a vital role in the International SOS Government Medical Services, Inc. medical team and report directly to the Nurse Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develops and maintains professional relationships with tenant organizations/mission partners to support the needs of human resources and safety departments.
- Ensures medical records are maintained in compliance with applicable, policies, procedures, state and federal regulations and statues to include HIPAA.
- Stays abreast of industry and professional developments. Anticipates changes in compliance, clinical and other occupational related standards and develops and implements responsive policies and work improvement initiatives.
- Performs and supervises staff performing occupational health physicals and screenings, including but not limited to, spirometry, audiology, vision screening, new hire exams, medical surveillance programs and annual exams.
- Administer periodic evaluations to determine an employee’s fitness for duty.
- Coordinates with the Chief Medical Officer and employer safety personal for specialty exam requirements.
- Serves as clinical leader for the department and provides clinical expertise on facility related health and safety issues.
- Active participation in Mass Casualty exercises and events.
- Completes required organizational compliance education, including assigned requirements that are client-specified, for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.

Qualifications
Basic Requirements/Certifications:
- Current and unrestricted license or authorizing document from any US State, District of Columbia or US Territory to provide healthcare within scope of practice.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an industrial occupational medicine department.
- Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience.
- NIOSH Pulmonary Function Training – Certification
- CAOHC Hearing Conservation Training - Certification
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) certification or board eligible is desired.
Education Required:
Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
- Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
- May require bending, stooping and lifting up to 15 lbs.
Other Special Qualifications:
- Must be able to read, write & speak English to effectively communicate
- This position is unaccompanied.
- US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.
- US DOD CNACI or the ability to obtain one is required.
- A valid passport is required and must be in your possession prior to relocation.

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
