Job Description

This position is contingent upon award of contract.

This position will support the US Department of Veterans Affairs Critical Staffing Program.  The person in this position will represent International SOS and provide services outlined below: 

International SOS is looking for an individual who is an experienced Urology Ambulatory Care Registered Nurse to provide specialized nursing care to patients with urinary tract conditions focusing on assessment, treatment, and education. This role emphasizes patient-centered care by collaborating with urologists to optimize health outcomes and improve the quality of life for individuals managing urological issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of patients with urological conditions, including obtaining medical histories and performing physical examinations. 
  • Assist in the implementation of diagnostic tests and procedures, such as urinalysis, bladder scans, and catheterizations, as prescribed by urologists. 
  • Educate patients and families about urological health, including preventive care, treatment options, and post-procedure instructions. 
  • Collaborate with urologists and healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and preferences. 
  • Monitor patient outcomes and responses to treatments, documenting changes in conditions and adjusting care plans accordingly. 
  • Provide symptom management and support for patients suffering from chronic urological issues, ensuring access to resources and referrals as needed. 
  • Maintain accurate and thorough medical records in compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies. 
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and educational programs to enhance patient care and promote awareness of urological health issues. 

Qualifications

Basic Requirements/Certifications:  

  • Three (3) years current outpatient experience required. 
  • Current, full, active and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth (i.e. Puerto Rico) of the U.S. or in the District of Columbia. 
  • National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) to obtain a nursing license. 
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification. 

Education Required: 

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or  
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment. 
  • Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time. 
  • May require bending, stooping and lifting up to 25 lbs. 

Other Special Qualifications: 

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate. 
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required. 
  • Pass/possess VA Public Trust Clearance. 

Additional Information

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data. 

Compensation|  Min: $35hr        Max: $45hr
