Job Description
This position is contingent upon award of contract.
This position will support the US Department of Veterans Affairs Critical Staffing Program. The person in this position will represent International SOS and provide services outlined below:
International SOS is looking for an individual who is an experienced Pulmonary Ambulatory Care Registered Nurse to provide specialized nursing care for patients with respiratory and lung conditions, facilitating assessments, treatments, and education to promote optimal respiratory health. This role involves coordinating patient care, assisting with pulmonary procedures, and empowering patients with the knowledge and resources necessary for effective disease management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive assessments of patients with respiratory conditions, including obtaining medical histories and evaluating symptoms to guide treatment plans.
- Assist healthcare providers during diagnostic tests and procedures such as spirometry, bronchoscopy, and pulmonary function tests.
- Educate patients and their families about respiratory health, management of chronic lung diseases (such as asthma and COPD), and the proper use of inhalers and nebulizers.
- Collaborate with pulmonologists and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans that support optimal patient outcomes.
- Administer prescribed medications, monitor patient responses, and educate patients on proper medication adherence and potential side effects.
- Manage follow-up appointments and provide ongoing support to patients regarding their lung health, treatment efficacy, and lifestyle modifications.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements/Certifications:
- Three (3) years current outpatient experience required.
- Current, full, active and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth (i.e. Puerto Rico) of the U.S. or in the District of Columbia.
- National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) to obtain a nursing license.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Education Required:
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Physical Requirements:
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
- Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
- May require bending, stooping and lifting up to 25 lbs.
Other Special Qualifications:
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate.
- US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.
- Pass/possess VA Public Trust Clearance.
Additional Information
Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
Compensation| Min: $32hr Max: $42hr
