Job Description

This position will support Kellogg Brown & Root (KBR) Government Solutions in their joint department of defense program in Alice Springs, Australia.  The person in this position will represent International SOS and provide services outlined below:

International SOS is looking for an individual who is experienced as a Medical Technician to work as a vital part of the interdisciplinary team performing diagnostic tests, operating medical equipment, and ensuring accurate results for patient care.  They work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide essential support in diagnosing and monitoring medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Provides first aid, emergency medical services, health examinations, or nursing services to employees.
  • Interacts with injury management, workers compensation, and outside compensation providers.
  • Gives information to employees in health education and illness prevention.
  • Prepares, maintains, records, accident reports, and statistical data associated with incidents, health history, and injuries occurring at worksite.
  • Maintains inventory of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) equipment and first aid supplies.
  • Assists in performing drug and alcohol testing at worksite.
  • Overseeing other health issues such as drinking water, food preparations, and safety of living areas.
  • Performs duties by following established procedures.
  • Provides healthcare to employees at certain locations.
  • Exercises judgment within generally defined procedures and current regulations in selecting methods and techniques for treatment.
  • Has a knowledge of techniques used in the medical field in support of Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE).
  • Provides technical proficiency and a compassionate approach to patient interactions, supporting healthcare providers in delivering exceptional care.
  • Demonstrates strong communication skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Works effectively in dynamic environments.
  • Handles sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong foundation in laboratory procedures, patient care, and diagnostic testing to ensure accurate and timely results for medical teams.
  • Detail-oriented, adept with medical equipment, and dedicated to upholding rigorous standards in sample collection, analysis, and reporting.

Required Work Experience:

  • Minimum five (5) years' experience as a Medical Technician.
  • Proven experience working with medical equipment and tools.

Required Qualifications:

  • Relevant Australian Medical Technician certification or license.
  • Maintain current CPR certification.

Physical Demands: 

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
  • Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
  • May require bending, stooping and lifting up to 15 lbs.

Other Special Qualifications:

  • Must be an US, UK or Australian citizen.
  • Must be willing to relocate to Alice Springs, Australia for the duration of the contract.
  • A valid passport is required and must be in your possession prior to relocation. You must maintain a current passport during your stay in Australia.

Compensation| Min: 80,000   Max: 100,000

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
