Job Description
The Audiologist works as part of the Audiology department. The Audiologist will provide specialized audiological expertise within the multi-disciplinary team with the primary role of, evaluating patients for audiological conditions that may be attributable to military service. The Audiologist must be able to properly evaluate conditions and clearly provide written evaluation notes via required forms.
Qualifications
- Licenced to practice Audiology in the US, home country or country of practice. Doctorate degree required in the US. Master’s degree required in Puerto Rico.
- Successful completion of internship and residency in audiology.
- Experience with adult patients.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Provide routine care such as audiological testing and evaluation of audiological conditions.
- Provide audiological consultation to other medical doctors.
- Refer patients for more specialized evaluation if required for proper evaluation.
- Diagnose audiological diseases and injuries.
- Liaise with other medical staff to ensure continuity of care
- Educate patients about audiological conditions and treatment plans.
- Ensures that all medical records are correct and maintained
- Provision of clinical reporting to Project Medical Director
- Support clinical mentoring for staff development
- Ensure best practice in line with clinical guidelines and SOPs
- Support the clinical excellence framework under direction from the Project Medical Director
- Provide liaison with external agencies where required to maintain continuity of care and professional referral/patient handover.
Key Skills:
- Expert working knowledge of the diseases, functions, and anatomy of the audiological system.
- Ability to provide follow-up care for patients as needed
- Excellent IT skills including use of electronic medical records systems
- Excellent communication skills

Governance:

Absolute familiarity with and compliance with company policies and such procedures that are pertinent to the role and to good clinical care, including but not limited to:
- Consent, confidentiality, and appropriate handling of healthcare records in adherence to HIPAA/patient confidentiality laws. Clinical staff must ensure that they understand their professional, legal, and ethical responsibilities.
- Maintaining and improving clinical quality through audit and quality improvement activity.
- Safe and appropriate use of medication.
- Clinical governance. Clinicians should understand their role in the organisation’s clinical governance program.

Compensation | Base rate is $250 per day+ additional money per exam $658 (10 patients) $862 (15 patients)
Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
