Job Description

An excellent opportunity to work with one of our leading drilling clients within the Dutch sector on a 3/3 rotation. 

Main priorities of this role;

To maintain a state of medical emergency preparedness and provide routine health care to all personnel onboard assigned installation/vessel/work site in accordance with International SOS Medic Standing Orders (MSO) and at all times abiding by a code of conduct and principles of medical confidentiality as per legislative requirements.

Healthcare Provision

  • Provide onsite emergency medical care 24 hours per day in line with MSO 
  • Seek appropriate and timely consultation/advice from Topside Service
  • Arrange any required medevac cases in accordance with protocols
  • Maintain stock levels of all medications, including safe custody of controlled drugs and
  • Maintenance of controlled drugs register
  • Maintain clear and concise medical records
  • Management of clinical waste
  • Ensure all equipment and gases are functional, regularly inspected and maintained including calibration of required items
  • Lead first aid team and co-ordinate all first aid teams activities and regular training
  • Maintain eye wash, earplug, 1st aid kits and lens cleaning stations
  • Water sampling 
  • Awareness of IADC and OSHA guidelines
  • Assist with Helicopter safety brief, arrival briefs and overall coordination of task unless primary role of Medic dictates otherwise
  • Check and maintain emergency eye wash and shower stations

Health Improvement & Protection

  • Plan and implement health promotion activities including awareness raising of health & hygiene topics on a regular basis in line with Company Health Promotion Programmes and Calendars 
  • Implement and adhere to company and local procedures for management of infectious diseases
  • Crew monitoring quarterly health checks 
  • Conduct Health Surveillance on Client personnel as per Health risk assessment

Safety

  • Provide guidance, support, and carryout assessments on COSHH, HAVS, Face Fit, and other identified workplace hazards
  • Participate in health & hygiene audits in accordance with industry guidelines
  • Conduct safety tours for new personnel on board unless primary role of Medic dictates otherwise

Clinical Governance

  • Actively participate in clinical governance processes including: clinical audits, appraisal, onshore occupational health teleconferences and medic’s annual training

Qualifications

Registered Nurse (Adult), with at least 3 years post-graduation experience within one or more of:

  • A&E, ICU, HDU, OOH’s Service, ANP, Medical or Surgical Assessment Unit, OR;
  • Royal Navy Medical Assistant (at Leading Hand or above), OR;
  • Royal Marines Medical Assistance (at Corporal or above), OR;
  • British Army Combat Medical Technician Class 1 (at Corporal or above), OR;
  • Royal Air Force Medical Assistant (at Corporal or above), OR;
  • Royal Fleet Auxiliary Service Medical Technician, OR;
  • HCPC Registered Paramedic with significant experience in one or more of: Rapid Response
