Lead Doctor (Arzt/Ärztin) - Stuttgart or Wiesbaden or Kaiserslautern

We are looking for  Lead Doctors ( Arzt/Ärztin ) based near Stuttgart or Wiesbaden or Kaiserslautern, or within proximity, to support our global patient care program, TRICARE. 

In this role you will be required to lead a team of doctors and nurses providing clear medical leadership.  

This a fantastic opportunity for doctors ( Arzt/Ärztin ) to move away from the demands of a clinical environment to an on-site case manager role using their medical expertise.

  • Direct supervision and support of our team of doctors across Germany.
  • Set clear standards, action plans, and yearly performance appraisals for functional reports
  • Input and play an active role in overseeing medical staff succession planning and development programs
  • Ensure that all operational delivery of medical services and patient care across the region meet the required standard of medical quality 
  • Provide reports on the status of the program including interactions with the healthcare network and International SOS staff as well as any feedback to include compliments, complaints, and suggestions
  • Drive strategic initiatives in the region
  • Ensure that patient’s information is stored appropriately
  • Support Quality Assurance initiatives
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the key contractual requirements and work closely with the Head of Medical Services to ensure that relationships with the US Department of Defense and US military operational leaders are positive
  • Visit designated locations across the country as required liaising with Military Commanders, staff, and medical providers

We are looking for someone who has the flexibility to work a rostered on-call pattern and travel within Eurasia and Africa region.

Qualifications

  • Medical Doctor ( Arzt/Ärztin ) with 5 years plus post-graduation experience
  • Senior management experience in leadership function - experience as a Medical Director or within medical management
  • Broad clinical and health care provision experience preferably gained internationally and/or in developing countries within General Practice, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Accident and Emergency, Aviation medicine, Anesthetics, ICU, Tropical Medicine, Aviation Medicine
  • Military health care system experience preferred
  • Experience of managing/coordinating international evacuations a distinct advantage
  • Team and performance management experience at a senior level
  • Client account management experience
  • Business acumen
  • Computer literate
  • Post graduate qualification in assistance focused specialty
  • Full registration to practice medicine in Germany
  • Fluent in English and German
