Job Description

The Director of Financial Planning and Analysis is a key member of the Assistance Business Line Finance leadership team. This role assumes overall responsibility for providing high-quality and insightful reports on the financial performance of the business line.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and maintain an effective planning and analysis capability that will provide senior leadership with appropriate analytical tools to establish goals and measure performance of ABL
  • Deliver timely, accurate and insightful consolidated monthly and quarterly management reporting for ABL including profitability analyses per product lines, market segments and customers, as well as a rolling forecast and G&A review
  • Communicate consolidated financial and operational performance trends, historical and forecasted, using appropriate metrics
  • Analyze the financial performance and outlook with the Group CFO, identifying trends and driving the formulation of actions
  • Ensure all revenue and costs are recognized completely, accurately and correctly classified by working and partnering with the relevant regional finance, operations, billing and sales teams
  • Functional line management responsibility for all regional FP&A managers
  • Create a cohesive, co-ordinated and high-performing FP&A global team through conducting regular team meetings and setting common goals for the regional FP&A managers  
  • Support the Group CFO and Global ABL leadership team in developing the Medical Services budget guidelines 
  • Drive the annual budget process for ABL including the submission and the preparation of the budget presentation 
  • Analyse the regional budget submissions and ensure they are aligned to the guidelines issued
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis and projects upon request from Group CFO including business planning for future acquisitions and direct support to sub-locations as required
  • Participate as a key thought leader within the HQ ABL finance team, influencing decision making, identifying finance priorities and focussing on continuous improvement
     

Qualifications

Required Skills and Knowledge

  • Extensive experience of financial analysis and management reporting within a complex, detail-focused environment
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills to provide detailed and valuable business analysis to management
  • Hands-on with day-to-day operations, able to work under pressure, deliver results and observe deadlines
  • Demonstrated relationship building skills across large/diverse people business
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to operate at both a strategic and tactical level in a highly complex environment
  • Exposure to different styles and personalities of business unit leaders
  • Operated in a customer orientated environment, with experience in professional services industry desirable
  • Strong influencing skills and ability to deliver results in a matrix reporting environment
  • Good interpersonal skills and driver of change
  • Highly advanced Excel and Access knowledge – knowledge of Cognos an advantage
 
Required Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualifications combined with work experience in a senior finance managerial capacity and exposure to all accounting disciplines
  • CA or CPA qualifications
