Job Description

We are currently recruiting a Business Development Manager  on a permanent contract to join our team in Farnborough, Hampshire. Reporting to the Managing Director Europe, your primary focus will be the development of new business and growing existing business within the Aviation sector. The BDM Aviation will work closely with regional leadership to identify profitable and sustainable new markets within the Europe region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify key new customers to promote the entire range of MedAire products for Business and General Aviation.
  • Analyse and map the size of new business opportunities in the short to medium term for planning purposes.
  • Develop an aggressive sales strategy and action plan to achieve budgeted quarterly and annual sales and business targets for the business.
  • Identify, train and empower Intl.SOS BDMs in each territory to improve reach to market where appropriate.
  • Work with Aviation associations and regulatory bodies to promote the use of MedAire services to their members.
  • Develop a new customer prospecting plan which focuses on the tactical aspects of acquiring new prospects and closing sales in line with and to exceed budgeted sales targets.
  • Work with fellow colleagues in MedAire to leverage existing best practices, have new ideas to generate more sales.
  • Provide active support to Account Managers on a regular basis for existing clients and focus on relationship building to increase the yield per client through aggressive relationship marketing and cross selling.
  • Up-sell additional MedAire products to existing accounts by understanding and meeting their needs.
  • Actively use Salesforce.com to capture all sales related activities including information of prospects.
  • Work closely with strategic team of product experts in the form of pipeline reviews and sales strategy discussions leading to winning of new business
  • Work with the marketing team to design and implement suitable marketing events and promotions to generate demand and increase awareness of MedAire products.

Qualifications

Required Experience & Skills

  • Able to demonstrate a proven track record of profitable sales growth in a corporate environment.
  • Strong sales background, with proven “hunter” attributes towards acquisition of new business and exemplary levels of client care and focus in account management to drive extension business and build relationships across all levels of the client.
  • High profile networking ability, strong relationship building skills and confidence with senior decision makers
  • Business / Commercial Aviation acumen preferred.
  • Demonstrate effective verbal and written communications skills.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in using various software programs.
  • Demonstrate flexibility, effective problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills and able to work across cross-functional teams / multi-national matrix structured organization.
