Job Description

We are currently recruiting a Business Development Manager to join our team in Brussels, pushing the development of the Government Division within International SOS, focusing on the European Union.

While EU led humanitarian, civilian and military abroad missions will keep increasing in the near future, the EU remains committed to its Duty of Care obligations towards its staff. International SOS has ambition to become the leading provider of medical and security solutions abroad for the EU, helping the EU to best achieve its missions while protecting its staff. The scope of Intl.SOS services range from travel risk management solutions to provision of medical capacity building and in-theatre medical solutions. International SOS has already built a first solid basis of references with EU and is now keen to accelerate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop sales action plans to achieve monthly and annual sales and business targets for new business.
  • Ensure an in-depth understanding of the market segment and identify key prospect clients to promote and sell the entire range of medical services.
  • Conduct joint reviews to build a more effective communications plan, to understand development needs, and to provide insight for the improvement of sales and activity performance.
  • Management of client relationships to acquire a comprehensive understanding of client business strategy and facilitate business development through alignment with International SOS medical solutions.
  • Anticipate customer needs, requirements and market trends, identify buying influences and develop contacts at the highest levels within target clients and prospects.
  • Build close relationships with local communities, associations, and partners.
  • Ensure the professional standard of all written all client proposals, tender documents and communication is adhered to, in line with company standards and pricing procedures.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with various internal stakeholders, including the subject matter experts (medical and security).

Qualifications

  • The candidate will be familiar with EU political system and various agencies (EEAS, European Commission, European Parliament, DG ECHO, DEVCO, Frontex).
  • Strong sales background, with proven “hunter” attributes towards acquisition of new business with the public/government sector.
  • Solid experience in tender management.
  • High profile networking ability, strong relationship building skills and confidence with senior decision makers. Able to identify, qualify and develop EU needs where International SOS solutions can fit.
  • Advanced communication and coordination skills, navigating through a versatile ecosystem both internally and externally.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to successfully manage numerous projects simultaneously and drive change.
  • Excellent numeric, written and oral communication skills in English and French.
