Job Description
We are currently recruiting a Procurement Manager on a permanent contract to join our team in Barking, East London. The successful candidate will support the work of the purchasing department ensuring that products and services are sourced at the best price and conditions and ordered and delivered on time to meet client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Processing purchase orders:
- Raising purchase orders and placing with suppliers in line with stock and client requirements
- Tracking orders from confirmation through to receipt, following up orders with suppliers
- Expediting goods were necessary to meet client requirements
- Resolve issues and queries with products liaising with goods-in, inventory and order desk where necessary, ensuring that any issues are resolved quickly
Sourcing and pricing:
- Sourcing of new products as required for clients and development of LE West Catalogue and ISOS Group standards list
- Work with product committee to identify new products, available on the market and developing detailed specifications and ensure products are fit for intended purpose with order desk
- Identify suppliers that are able to offer LE West best value in terms of quality of goods, price and service
- Working with commercial desk in Singapore to provide update pricing information for tenders and non-standard items requests for client
- Provide updates to all relevant departments on price increases and market availability of products
Supplier management:
- Monitoring supplier performance and providing feedback where service levels does not meet expectations
- Identifying new or alternative suppliers where current ones are unable to meet LE West requirements
- Work with suppliers to identify opportunities for costs reductions through consolidated/schedule purchasing
Purchase planning:
- Ordering of stock in line with stock orders schedules. Working with planning to consolidate requirements to reduce costs of goods, carriage and other related supply costs
- Provide information on suppliers and products to the finance and planning team to improve the planning and purchasing of stock
General:
- Carry out duties as required supporting the work of the purchasing department
- Ensuring that product and order information in sage is kept up to date to allow others to deputise as needed
Qualifications
- Strong educational background to degree level preferably linked to supply chain and/or pharmaceutical/medical sector
- Experience in managing relationships within complex organisations
- Experience working with purchasing of medical supplies and equipment
- Worked with ERP systems or purchasing supply systems
- Excellent computer skills and proficient in excel, word and outlook
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Demonstrated effective leadership skills
- Strong negotiating skills
- Supply chain experience in pharmaceutical and/or medicals will be a plus
