Job Description

The Head of Finance takes responsibility for all accounting, finance activities and commercial planning for MedSupply Europe, an International SOS company, including the overall achievement of the financial, governance and efficiency objectives. This is a permanent contract role based in Barking, East London.

The position leads a team of 4 and the provision of financial strategy and planning, takes responsibility for overseeing all the financial aspects of the business, including cash management, working capital, balance sheet management, debt, taxation, acquisitions, leading budget cycles, regulatory and compliance and management reporting.  The post-holder must be able to balance financial acumen with strong commercial awareness, challenging assumptions and decision-making where appropriate whilst providing robust financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans, targets and business drivers. The position will also be responsible for all commercial planning activities for MedSupply Europe.

The Head of Finance is a full member of the Leadership team for MedSupply Europe and plays an important business partnering role with the Managing Director on commercial, risk management and business development activities.  He or she will also participate in special projects such as assessment and integration of successful acquisitions, or small-scale divestments.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Qualified Chartered or Certified Accountant (CA or ACCA) or international accounting equivalent is required

Required Work Experience

  • Proven experience as a Head of Finance or equivalent with day-to-day finance team leadership experience
  • Clear track record in all aspects of Financial Management and accounting.
  • Previous inventory asset management experience is required
  • Stakeholder management/ Business Partnering experience is required
  • Multinational company/ matrix organisation experience in a fast-paced service environment, ideally in supply chain
  • Experience in highly regulated environment such as Pharmaceutical Wholesale/ Food/ Chemicals/ Logistics & Distribution would be preferred
  • Exposure to dealing at senior level with customers, banks, auditors, legal advisors and suppliers
  • Executive management experience and track record in budget management, strategy setting and execution
  • Previous experience with Legal entity set ups in Europe as a minimum, Joint Ventures, Mergers & Acquisition, Due diligence etc. is desirable

    Required Languages

    • Excellent written and spoken English
    • French and/or Portuguese, or additional European language skills would be preferable

    Travel / Rotation Requirements

    • Occasional international travel is required
