Job Description

The Hospital Pricing Manager is an expert role responsible for the leadership and coordination of all activities that support the pricing efforts for delivering healthcare under the TRICARE Overseas Program. The position aims to yield savings and eventually lower average cost per claim through “negotiated reduced rates” applicable to TRICARE beneficiaries.

The role requires a combination of expert knowledge in healthcare pricing overseas and commercial orientation to understand key network drivers, evaluate tactical choices and options considering the potential impact on access to care.

The role requires the ability to establish strong coordination with other TRICARE resources and the Global Assistance Network teams which are in charge of overall relationship with healthcare providers in their respective regions. An executive position in the United States will support the Global Pricing Manager administratively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities and drive the implementation of the pricing initiative.
  • Coordinating pricing negotiations and billing globally with  healthcare provider groups and high profile institutional providers and functionally supports all other rates negotiations.
  • With support of other dedicated staff, provide data analytics, advise on processing requirements, generate formatted fee lists, monitor electronic data transfer and support smooth discount billing and claims processes.
  • Building and maintaining a pricing repository, evaluating current procedures and practices for developing and implementing pricing initiatives in close coordination with the General Assistance Network team.
  • Being the point of contact for resolution of all  network-related pricing issues.
  • Establishing annual plans and regular reviews, adjusting for changes in local needs and in response to changes in client contract and policy.
  • Budgeting, monitoring and analyzing costs for the Pricing activities.
  • Globally, and together with the Global Communications Manager, support the providers` insight and understanding of the objectives as well as their comfort with the International SOS’ pricing initiatives and processes.
  • The incumbent manager provides leadership to and is accountable for the performance of pricing initiatives, maintaining an appropriately skilled project group to deliver the services required.
  • For the Network teams, planning, coordinating and implementing, through subordinate management and functional activities, analyze reports, provide provider information and functional training, confer with network colleagues and claims staff to obtain data required for planning functional activities, such as new projects, status of work in progress, and problems encountered.
  • Responsible, with the Regional Program Directors and  Relationship Managers, for network quality, meeting service level and access to care criteria of the provider network ensuring continuous improvement of services and provider satisfaction, management of pricing and process risks as well as corrective action plans. 
  • In coordination with the Global Claims Manager and Global Network Director responsible for building an auditable database, planning, preparation and support during the audits and as per contractual obligations.
  • Promoting quality standards for all host nation providers participating in Pricing activities according to the Quality Oversight Plan and Corporate Quality Standards and Guidelines.
  • Drive the and participate in the planning and management of system enhancements, Provider Portal development, other IT development initiates related to the Pricing and process efficiency.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Experience within the International Healthcare field
  • Solid understanding of international healthcare and pricing systems, ideally the U.K. and across other countries
  • Successful record in management or customer service experience, ideally including as Hospital Contract Manager or similar function
  • Provider contractual negotiations experience  and/or insight into international health care pricing
