Job Description

We are currently recruiting a Business Development Manager on a permanent contract to join our team in Amsterdam. The successful candidate will have some experience in a sale roles and will be responsible for the development of new business in the Dutch market, whilst coordinating the provision of quality solutions that satisfy and exceed client’s needs and expectation.  This is to be achieved through our “client and market first” global strategy. We are looking for individuals with some experience in a sales role, ideally having had one or two sales roles previously, and looking to develop their careers in a growing business.

 
Key Responsibilities:

Business Development

  • Acquire an in-depth understanding of the Dutch Market to identify key clients and to promote and sell the entire range of International SOS services
  • Identify and secure prospective clients to drive new business acquisition and gross profit target achievement
  • Work with other International SOS entities to identify global leads and opportunities throughout the Group
  • Understand customer needs, requirements and market trends, identify buying influences and develop contacts at the highest appropriate levels within target clients and prospects
  • Assist in developing market and segment specific marketing strategies and sales plans
  • Grow and manage a pipeline of opportunities in the CRM system (Salesforce.com). Report as requested on business development and new opportunities
  • Ensure professional representation of International SOS at client and industry specific functions and maximize network opportunities, e.g. participation in conferences and exhibitions

Market Development

  • Establish and grow relationships with business partners: Travel Management Companies and Associations, Risk Management Associations, Control Risk, Brokers etc
  • Work with the marketing team on thought leadership and lead generation to further load the International SOS brand in the Dutch market
  • Actively use and build the International SOS network through client referrals


Travel / Rotation Requirements:

  • Occasional travel within Europe Region

Qualifications

  • Self-Starter, intrinsically motivated, able to be driven by external contacts
  • Able to build a network in the market and inside International SOS effectively
  • Relationship building skills
  • Influencing and negotiating skills with the ability to motivate and influence internal and external clients to commit to buy and the drive to close sales
  • Good strategic thinker
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to research and successfully gather all the required / relevant information relating to a client, prospect and/or individual/contact to support each stage of the sales process
  • Excellent numeric, written, oral communication and presentation skills
  • Computer literate (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and CRM applications)
  • Cultural sensitivity and awareness
  • Ability to work in a multi-lingual, multi-cultural environment where collaboration is the norm
  • Ability to objectively assess own performance and implement self-development plans

Required Work Experience:

  • Educated to HBO or University level

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate in Dutch and English fluently (oral and written) is an absolute must.
