Job Description

Head Chef is required urgently in Cambridge

Interview and trial will be arranged immediately.

Salary and benefits

• In return the Sous Chef will be paid up to £23,000 per annum
• 33 days annual holiday including bank holidays

What is expected from the Sous Chef

• Be a role model and set a vision to inspire the kitchen team

You are required to lead the kitchen team prepare food according the orders, meet food hygiene requirements while maintaining food waste to a minimum. You will be responsible for supervising all chefs and kitchen porters adhere to set food qualities as well as hygiene standards. You will also help organizing, planning, ordering, stock taking, cost control, staff roster management and involve in preparation and presentation of food.The sous chefs will also provide their suggestions to new menus etc.

Our customer desires a Sous Chef capable of working on their own initiative in a fast paced environment, who can stay calm under pressure and work well in a team. 

The suitable candidate will possess the following: 

Previous experience working as a Sous Chef, either independent or branded organisation. Used to working with standard menus using specs and produce quality food in a casual dining environment 

Ability to work independently, HACCP knowledge

Ability to stay calm when put under pressure, proactive, flexible attitude, team approach and interest in the company’s ethics

Enthusiastic, pro-active, dedicated and a hands-on approach
