We are currently looking for a native English to join our Marketing, Communication & Press department

Job Description

This role is dedicated to supporting the editorial of Press Releases and Online communication in the build-up and during IFFR 2020 (49th edition) from October 2019 onwards. The role also encompasses a number of IFFR.com editorials both in EN and NL that will complement the Press Releases.

Tasks involve:

  • Support our IFFR editorial requirements through writing, editing and proofreading
  • Press releases, press updates, press mailings, online blogs, announcements or social media messages when appropriate. Tasks cover organisation news, programme, projects and announcements:
    • Comply with IFFR editorial planning and deadline commitments
    • Comply with IFFR tone of voice and editorial signature
    • Identify optimal balance between public expectations and programme
    • ambitions and support stakeholders accordingly
    • Ensure targeted editorials (blog, PR and PR updates) are adequately scheduled, populated, set up and sent when relevant
    • Liaise with the relevant intern(s), colleagues and organisation stakeholders
    • (i.e. Publication, Programme, Marcomm, Pro, etc.)
  • Think along with the Press & PR Manager, producing new talking points to support the IFFR’s ventures and platform 
  • Maintain close communication with other IFFR team members and key spokespeople
  • Manage IFFR online News Room and provide content for the IFFR website
  • Repurpose information towards the Office through regular mailings/internal
  • newsletters
  • Comply with tools and methodology adopted across the IFFR MarComm and PR teams

Qualifications

  • You’re a versatile freelance content writer and editor versed in both English and Dutch
  • You are structured and great at establishing priorities and handling multiple deadlines
  • You’re equally passionate and proficient when it comes to writing about films and the film industry
  • You keep your reader in mind. You’re comfortable writing about complex subjects and translate them into digestible pieces for general audiences
  • Your solid understanding of journalism allows you to ask the right questions and make complex concepts unambiguously clear
  • You understand SEO requirements, always keeping keywords and search terms in mind
  • You work well under pressure and can motivate others to get things done
