    Job Description

    We have an exciting opportunity available for an Accounting Manager located at our corporate headquarters in Bloomington, MN.  The Accounting Manager is responsible for leading and managing the day-to-day operations of the finance and accounting function, including month-end close activities, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. The successful candidate will have a strong technical accounting background, excellent analytical skills, and strong communication skills to work cross-functionally with other departments.

    Key accountabilities include:

    • Lead and manage all month-end close activities, including timely preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations.
    • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and regulatory reporting, including GAAP and statutory financial reporting.
    • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
    • Lead the annual audit process and ensure timely completion of audit requests.
    • Lead the preparation of International Dairy Queen, subsidiaries and retirement savings plan annual reports.
    • Manage and develop the accounting team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to help team members grow and achieve their goals.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors and other service providers.
    • Collaborate with other departments to identify and address accounting-related issues or opportunities to standardize and streamline processes.
    • Prepare and analyze financial statements and provide insight into financial performance.
    • Support the budgeting and forecasting processes, including the development of financial models, analysis of key financial metrics, and preparation of financial statements.
    • Monitor and analyze financial performance against budget and forecast and provide insights and recommendations to drive business decisions.
    • Drive process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in the finance and accounting function.
    • Other duties as assigned.

     

     

    Qualifications

    Education & Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field required; Master’s degree or CPA certification preferred.
    • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role. Public accounting experience is a plus.
    • Proven track record of managing month-end close processes, financial reporting, and budgeting and forecasting activities.
    • Strong technical accounting skills with experience implementing accounting standards.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
    • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and process optimization.
    • Positive attitude with strong work ethic and high level of integrity.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and ERP systems.

    Work Environment

    Most positions located out of our global headquarters in Bloomington, MN will work a hybrid work schedule where you will work 2 collaboration days a week.  Additional in office time may be required to support team/project needs.  Positions will be identified as “remote eligible” when consideration will be given to candidates outside of drivable distance to our Bloomington office.
