Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Finance Analyst located at our corporate office in Bloomington, MN.  The Senior Financial Analyst will report to the Corporate Controller and will play a key role in supporting all aspects of the financial planning and analysis, corporate accounting (month end close), and financial reporting processes at Dairy Queen.

Key Accountabilities Include:

  • Play a key role in developing annual budget and periodic forecasts for the corporation. Work closely with departments to ensure accurate and timely financial projections.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance against budget and forecast and provide insights and recommendations to drive business decisions.
  • Responsible for leading internal cost center reporting and analysis for management review, offering accounting assistance, financial measures, and business insights to cost center owners.
  • Develop processes and tools to facilitate a highly efficient and effective analytical planning process.
  • Participate in the month-end close processes by completing assigned JE’s and reconciliations to ensure financial statements are prepared in accordance with GAAP.
  • Identify opportunities to standardize and streamline processes and implement solutions.
  • Manage the various annual audits and ensure audit requests are completed on time.
  • Drive process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in the finance and accounting function.
  • Support the corporate financial planning, analysis and reporting processes at Dairy Queen.
  • Provide the organization with US GAAP technical accounting expertise to identify and/or resolve accounting issues.
  • Participate in the preparation of audited financial statements, including financial statement footnotes in accordance with US GAAP requirements.
  • Promote a team culture of collaboration, high performance, and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA or MBA desired.
  • Minimum 5 years of financial management, financial reporting, financial analysis, or related experience.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills and the ability to explain financial concepts in lay terms to executives.
  • Positive attitude with strong work ethic and high level of integrity.
  • Deal effectively with ambiguities and be able to manage multiple projects through completion, under deadlines, with minimal supervision.
  • Hold the highest standards for accuracy and ethics for yourself and your team but also recognize how to balance accuracy and urgency.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong technical accounting skills with experience implementing accounting standards.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Microsoft D365 or similar experience preferred.

Work Environment

Most positions located out of our global headquarters in Bloomington, MN will work a hybrid work schedule where you will work 2 collaboration days a week.  Additional in office time may be required to support team/project needs.  Positions will be identified as “remote eligible” when consideration will be given to candidates outside of drivable distance to our Bloomington office.
