    Job Description

    We have an exciting opportunity available for a Paralegal located at our Bloomington, MN corporate headquarters.  The Privacy and Compliance Paralegal provides support to the Associate General Counsel – Privacy, Advertising & Marketing, and other Legal Department personnel in handling various regulatory compliance, privacy and data protection matters. They will be responsible for providing day-to-day paralegal support related to privacy legal issues, FCPA compliance processes, and other regulatory compliance matters. This will include drafting, reviewing, processing, revising, tracking, and filing of agreements, researching issues, following up with internal departments and addressing incoming inquiries. The position assists with the development of policies and procedures, training, audits and assessments, updates and reporting for the various compliance programs. The Privacy and Compliance Paralegal develops and maintains privacy and data protection knowledge and expertise to ensure effective paralegal and privacy function support.

    Key Accountabilities Include:

    Support for Privacy Program

    • Work with business teams to complete privacy impact assessments and transfer impact assessments and periodic reassessments; determine the level of privacy risk and escalate as needed; follow up to ensure completion and approval of all assessments.
    • Assist with the drafting and annual review process for global privacy processes, policies and notices.
    • Aid in the creation and updating of privacy template library.
    • Drafting, revising and tracking data processing agreements as well as privacy or data protection provisions in other agreements such as license agreements, sponsorship agreements, service agreements, technology agreements, and supplier agreements.
    • Knowledge of contract language and ability to understand and interpret terms and conditions proposed by vendors and whether such terms should be negotiated.
    • Obtain and maintain advanced drafting knowledge of privacy provisions in contracts and of other privacy-related documents.
    • Provide basic and intermediate legal opinions to in-house counsel related to contract provisions and data tracking related to privacy.
    • Data input, maintenance and reporting in company’s OneTrust tenant, including data mapping for new data flows, testing of ongoing and new functionality or modules, and other tasks as assigned.
    • Receive and respond to consumer privacy inquiries through online tools, and assist Fan Relations in responding to consumer questions related to privacy.
    • Gather information as requested to support the resolution of privacy matters.

    Support other compliance programs

    • Assist with implementation and management of various regulatory compliance matters, e.g., accessible technology, gift cards, anti-SPAM laws, FCPA compliance, document retention, etc.
    • Administrate the FCPA compliance process for third parties involved in our international business, including drafting, sending and tracking receipt of annual certifications for franchisees, vendors and other parties as appropriate. 
    • Conduct basic, intermediate, and advanced legal, regulatory and business-related research for in-house counsel as needed.
    • Assist with the development, implementation, and updating of training materials for various compliance programs.
    • Assist with revisions to and maintenance of company’s document retention processes, policy and schedule.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Education/Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree, Paralegal certificate, or equivalent experience is required.
    • Should possess a minimum of 5 years of experience at a law firm, in-house corporate legal department, or equivalent legal experience.
    • Privacy experience or certification is a plus.
    • Corporate contracts or commercial legal experience is preferred.

    Skills:

    • Experience with OneTrust and working knowledge of privacy terminology and concepts a plus. 
    • Advanced Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Adobe AcrobatPro DC skills.

    Work Environment

    Most positions located out of our global headquarters in Bloomington, MN will work a hybrid work schedule where you will work 2 collaboration days a week.  Additional in office time may be required to support team/project needs.  Positions will be identified as “remote eligible” when consideration will be given to candidates outside of drivable distance to our Bloomington office.
