    Job Description

    We have an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Systems Engineer- Core Microsoft Platforms located at our corporate headquarters in Bloomington, MN.  The Senior Systems Engineer works with a team of skilled staff to develop, implement, maintain, and support technical systems, with specific ownership and expertise in Microsoft Platforms, Active Directory, Exchange, M365, and Teams Communication/Collaboration.  This role will also assist with development and on-going administration of Infrastructure Monitoring end Event Management Solutions.  They are a mentor and technical resource to IT Service Desk staff and other Systems Engineers, sharing responsibility for the day-to-day maintenance and support of the company’s global infrastructure.

    The Senior Systems Engineer also participates in a variety of higher-level and/or cross-functional team projects, including the planning, design and implementation of new/updates to existing Cloud components, authentication and end user/endpoint security.

    Key Accountabilities Include:

    Systems Engineering & Administration

    • System architecture, engineering, system administration and security administration of Dairy Queen systems & applications, including but not limited to Microsoft Active Directory / Azure Active Directory, Exchange, M365, Teams, SharePoint, and federated authentication and SSO.
    • Own the design, setup, and ongoing administration of the authentication solutions and user/object lifecycle management.
    • Manage, administer, and develop user focused security components including but not limited to: Group Policy, MFA, and SSO solutions.
    • Provide necessary documentation for all applications and systems.
    • Provide off-hours support, as needed, to support product updates, equipment upgrades, and address technical issues.

    Maintenance & Projects

    • Management and maintenance of the AD environment, Group Policy, and Cloud integrated applications.
    • Maintain technical documentation for solutions and standard operating procedures such that services are delivered in an efficient and effective manner
    • Manage multifaceted and technically sophisticated projects and on-going operations.
    • Meet project and task deadlines.

    Service Development

    • Continually look to improve and refine the IS infrastructure services delivered to the business, globally.
    • Maintain knowledge of emerging technology.
    • Help define and meet SLA requirements for infrastructure components.
    • Contribute deep technical skills, and industry experience and best practices to the rest of the team, driving change.

    Communication & Collaboration

    • Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing with people at all organizational levels.
    • Work in a team environment making positive contributions to the organization.
    • Establish and maintain effective relationships with staff members, customers, and vendors.
    • Other duties as assigned or required.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related/applicable field(s) is preferred, but not required
    • 3 - 5+ Years of experience as a Systems Engineer using several applicable and transferrable technologies, including, but not limited to: Active Directory/AAD, Exchange, M365, Teams, Group Policy, SCCM, SSO and federated authentication
    • 3 years of experience as a Senior Engineer, performing design, implementation, development and support of authentication, secure end user and other infrastructure components
    • Experience with Microsoft Windows Administration and Active Directory in an environment supporting 600+ users 
    • Experience with SCCM
    • Strong scripting and automation skills, using Power Automate, PowerShell and similar tools.
    • Advanced computer skills, good written and oral communication skills
    • The ability to travel overseas as required (<10%)

    Work Environment

    Most positions located out of our global headquarters in Bloomington, MN will work a hybrid work schedule where you will work 2 collaboration days a week.  Additional in office time may be required to support team/project needs.  Positions will be identified as “remote eligible” when consideration will be given to candidates outside of drivable distance to our Bloomington office.
