Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity available at our corporate office in Bloomington, MN.  The purpose of this position is to provide data driven analytics for multiple areas of the company on products, stores, vendor and warehouse information by pulling and analyzing information from multiple data platforms, defining and implementing program and process upgrades and creating reports that will supply the necessary information to support key business decisions.  

The Analyst will have a broad view across the entire Unified Supply Chain, Inc. (USCI)/American Dairy Queen (ADQ) organization to conduct and lead decision support activities. Decision support uses data and analysis to generate a deep understanding of business performance, enhance decision making, and drive action. This requires strong partnership with Retail Technology, IT, Accounting, Finance, and other key business partners. This position will serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Supply Chain systems. Primary accountabilities will include data mapping, analysis, functional and ad hoc reporting, forecasts, benchmarking, volume and margin analysis. This position must be able to multi-task and manage multiple requests at various times. Critical skills in analysis, communication of information, ability to build trust, and challenging the status quo will be vital to the success of this role. This role will also be expected to advise and coach a diverse team through cross-training and continuous learning. 

Key Accountabilities:

Program and Systems Integration:

  • Gather business requirements, define and design features, write specifications and program changes to USCI SQL, Access, Dynamix AX, Power BI and ArrowStream systems.  Build integrations of existing platforms with Restaurant back office systems.
  • Prioritize system features and upgrades, functional and executive dashboards. Serve as subject matter expert and training lead for ArrowStream supply and quality systems and data interpretation of retail store operations data through Par Brink, which includes Data Central.

  • Develop and maintain detailed knowledge and data asset structure and elements/fields including source of data field definitions, reliability of data fields and appropriate fields to be used for various analysis.

  • Integrate new KPI’s and metrics into dashboard and assist in validating and delivering clear information, including, but limited too; Warehouse Service Levels, Fill Rates, Order Variances.

  • Perform monthly store audits to validate the warehouse reported sales in the reporting application (e.g. sale of every item for every franchisee, to determine whether they have overcharged).

  • Lead integration of new distribution partners.

Data Analysis: 

  • Responsible for data integrity in the USCI applications. If the data integrity issues stem from the distributor, (for example if the distributor has made changes or upgrades to their system and is no longer reporting the needed data), trouble-shoot problem resolution with distributor.  Manage data integrity between sources, Warehouse, Arrow Stream, and Data Central, in making sure they all integrate.

  • Facilitate achievement of key strategic initiatives and business development through data analysis and decision support.  Manage internal and external data sets and tools.

  • Conduct detailed financial analysis on this data to determine purchasing trends, competitor pricing and promotional participation.

Reporting:

  • Prepare and distribute static reporting such as reports on distribution and supplier sales vs. plan for company management including VP and Directors of Distribution, USCI senior management and USCI team, as well as senior ADQ company management. Create ad hoc reports as necessary, for example, to determine the purchasing for a store, the movement of a product, or in support of an RFP, by Purchasing or Distribution, to be managed by a Director within those Departments.  Prepare product and vendor/distributor reports for SCAC Meetings. Create and propose this reporting independently, following high-level requests for information from senior management, including, but not limited to: Unapproved Product, Non-System Food Sales, and Produce.

  • Maintain financial commitments to franchisees regarding corporate margins on products.

Manage Pre-Order Process:

  • ADQ/OJ will run Limited Time Offers (LTO’s) through the year, that occasionally require operators to plan for purchase of product through a pre-order process.  A function of this role is to create and maintain all aspects of the pre-order: Item set-up, pricing, store set-up, reporting to management once the pre-order is live, closing and establishing reports of final numbers, and closing and establishing reports of final numbers.

Other Duties:

  • Identify and create department process improvements.
  • Train other USCI members to ensure correct usage and analysis.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Education, Experience and Skills:

  • B.A. or B.S. Degree in Business Management, Information Management, Finance, Statistics, Economics or related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Strong financial analysis and analytical skills. Must have 5+ years of increasingly responsible experience conducting financial data analysis and reporting using SQL, Excel and Access, preferably with inventory analysis experience with ArrowStream, Data Central, or similar data collection systems. Knowledge of data modeling or simulation preferred.

  • Experience working within a franchisor organization preferred.

  • Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) Supply Chain experience is a plus, as is strong knowledge and familiarity with the Restaurant industry or in Distribution. Strong demonstrated analytical, programming and database administration skills.
  • Strong ability to collaborate in a team environment, demonstrated ability to be a team leader, liaising effectively with colleagues in various other company departments, driving problems to resolution in an efficient yet collaborative manner.

  • Demonstrated ability to be forward-thinking and to propose/drive improvements in processes, reporting and analytics.

  • Accountability and Drive for Results.   • Strives to provide timely responses and solutions to USCI leaders and staff, and distributors’ problems, keeping them informed through resolution.  Gathers feedback on programs and uses it for improvements and to adjust service. Follows through on feedback.
