    Job Description

    We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Analyst and Project Manager located at our corporate headquarters in Bloomington, MN.  The IT department has an exciting opportunity to play a dual role as both a Business Analyst and a Project Manager as we refine our work intake processes and methodologies for delivering high quality solutions to our business partners. The ideal candidate will be extremely organized, highly adaptable, an excellent communicator, and enjoy working with a team. To be successful, the candidate must understand data requirements and learn the strategies that drive our business vision and would have a dedication to produce high-quality output towards successful deliverables. This individual provides hands-on leadership and direction, as well as drives accountability to the team. This person tracks project budgets where applicable and is responsible for the efficient management of resources.

     

    Key Responsibilities Include:

    Business Analysis

    • Overall accountability for enabling the software development team to successfully deliver projects, complete application enhancements, and prioritize incoming tickets; providing work management oversight to ensure development team is working efficiently and effectively on the company’s highest priorities.
    • Leads business partners, stakeholders and development team members in the process of analyzing business requirements, developing and delivering solutions that aligned with business and IT strategies.
    •  Effectively shares knowledge, deliverables, and lessons learned with colleagues across the organization.

    Project Management

    • Provide day-to-day project leadership and decision making on multiple projects especially pertaining to iteration scope, schedule, budget, and resources. Ensure business deliverables are completely satisfied, on time and within budget.
    • Produce reports on assigned project deliverables to keep management apprised of project status, major issues, scope changes, resource changes and milestone achievements or misses. Ensure project documentation is complete and communicated (e.g. user stories, use cases, test plans, deployment documentation, release schedules, status reports, etc.).
    • Resolve conflicts within and across development initiatives between resources, schedules, budgets, priorities, etc. Drive accountability and cooperation between development teams and business stakeholders. Serve as the liaison to the customer for the development team.
    • Manage 3rd party vendors (as necessary) as an integral part of the team’s activities. Hold vendors accountable, communicate on their performance, and escalate issues as necessary.
    • Monitor requests/issues from the various areas and work with the appropriate group (internal Application Development or external Vendors) to resolve and close tickets.

    Qualifications

    Education/Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in information systems or business-related field, or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
    • 3 to 5 years of experience in an analyst or project management role.
    • Strong experience with Microsoft products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio and SharePoint.
    • Project Management Institute (PMI) or equivalent certification preferred and may substitute for some required experience. Strong understanding of business analysis methodology/processes is required.

    Skills:

    • Attention to detail, demonstrated ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.
    • Strong analytical and information gathering skills; with the ability to create solid written project artifacts, including the business case creation and production of functional specifications.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills; must be able to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
    • Flexible approach. Ability to adapt approach to meet the needs of the business.
    • Strategically focused, with an intuitive grasp of business priorities and objectives.
    • Broad-based familiarity with technology and Information Technology services, with the ability to make technology concepts accessible to non-technical colleagues and customers
