Job Description

The Staff Health Officer 1 (SHO1) is primarily responsible for the implementation and administration of the ICRC staff health program in the Manila area, supporting the health and well-being of all resident and mobile staff.

Under the supervision and guidance of the Staff Health Officer 2, SHO1 contributes to the delivery of services across seven domains of the staff health strategy:

1. Staff Health Policy

2. Health Promotion and Prevention

3. Health Care and Medical Emergencies

4. Stress Management and Crisis Response

5. Health Insurance

6. Medical Information Management

7. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Feed
 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Leads and facilitates medical reimbursements, insurance processes, and documentation
  • Ensures emergency preparedness, case management, and referral to health facilities.
  • Implements health promotion and disease prevention activities.
  • Supports Mental Health support through psychological first aid, peer support, and crisis management.
  • Coordinates across teams & external providers to deliver responsive staff health services in Manila.
  • Responsible for the Staff Health Hotline

 

Qualifications

  • Licensed nurse or allied health professional with clinical or public health experience. Occupational health experience preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years in occupational/clinical health, staff wellness, or emergency health programs.
  • Experience in health insurance processes, and medical reimbursement systems
  • Experience in mental health and psychosocial support
  • Must have intermediate skills in MS Office (Excel); Tech – savvy
  • Experience with NGOs/INGOs an asset.
  • Must be amenable to travel around the Philippines
