Job Description
The Protection Field Officer contributes to the implementation and monitoring of ICRC protection activities in places of detention in line with the strategy of the ICRC Zamboanga Office. The Protection Field Officer strengthens and develops protection activities in detention in consultation with the Protection Delegate. He/she identifies protection concerns in the places of detention under Zamboanga Area of Responsibility and initiates assistance in close collaboration with other departments. In addition to leading the detention file, the field officer will support the other Zamboanga Protection Officers in the other files (Protection of Civilian Population and Protection of Family Links) when needed.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implements and monitors the application of the delegation's protection strategies in places of detention
- Contributes to the design of protection activities in detention
- Ensures individual follow-up of security detainees and allegations of arrest in line with the delegation strategy and guidelines; contribute to caseload management and external communication.
- Leads in drafting of Detention Visit Report, Interviews Without Witness, working papers in a timely manner
- Leads the smooth implementation of the Family Visit Program (FVP), including follow-ups required with families or beneficiaries.
Qualifications
REQUIRED PROFILE
- University degree or equivalent in relevant field
- Exposed in context analysis, project management, networking and building relations
- Knowledge in detention policies, guidelines and procedure including mode of actions
- Good understanding of the political and social context of Mindanao
- Knowledge in English, Filipino, Yakan and Tausug
