We are looking for a highly skilled Software Engineer willing to specialize in the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) domain to join our Digital Product Area: “Product Engineering”, a part of Digital Engineering at Inter IKEA, Range. The Product Engineering Area is dedicated to ensuring an attractive, consistent, and efficient way of working for product development and our suppliers. Our goal is to establish a strong foundation for IKEA's product information, enabling its seamless use across the entire value chain. Our team is based in Malmö, Sweden.

You will play a key role in our journey as we dare to be IKEA, optimize for relevance, and ensure we offer the best possible products at the lowest possible price.

As a key member of our software development team, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining solutions within the PLM environment. Your expertise will be essential in driving the success of our projects and ensuring the optimal performance of our PLM systems. Therefore, we believe that it is important that you have interest and curiosity to work with the PLM domain. You should also be specialized in or willing to specialize in PTC Windchill, as this is the PLM platform we work with.

 

Qualifications

What we’d like you to bring to the table

The role as a Software Engineer in the PLM domain requires you to have:

  • Minimum 2-5 years of work life experience in Java development
  • Knowledge in other programming languages such as JavaScript, SQL 
  • Knowledge or curiosity to work with system design and development in the PLM ecosystem.
    • Knowledge or curiosity to learn PTC Windchill products PDMlink, Projectlink and Partslink.
  • Familiarity with cloud technology
  • Knowledge in IT and solution architecture
  • Good interpersonal skills: active listening, coaching and facilitation.
  • Good communication skills: communicating in a clear, structured and honest way.
  • A deep understanding of IKEA's core values and cultural principles as well as a mindset and way of working that reflects this

 

It’s a plus if you also have:

  • Experience working with technology as a business tool and translating requirements into solutions, balancing user experience, business needs and digital constraints.
  • The ability to drive simplicity in an entrepreneurial culture that maintains the balance between delivering business value and agility.
  • Experience collaborating closely with Product owners, business analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure harmony between business objectives and technical solutions.
  • Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation for system architecture, design, and development processes.
  • Experience designing, implementing and maintaining workflow processes, data migration, and integrations with other enterprise systems.

This is a permanent role based in Malmö; hence, you need to be based in Sweden and be able to work from the office three times a week. We don't offer relocation. The Software Engineer PLM role is crucial to securing an efficient working method for product development and our suppliers.
